Tower of Fantasy

Tower of Fantasy

One underlooked aspect of this game that I like over Genshin Impact...
...the characters in Tower of Fantasy have more realistic proportions than in Genshin Impact. In Genshin more of the characters look like their heads are too big. Now that I saw this aspect, I couldn't unsee it. I'll still play Genshin sometime down the road and I'll still adore the characters from that game, but I will think Tower of Fantasy's characters are more visually appealing and feel more immersed in this game.

I know this sounds shallow, sorry.

Cause you know it's weak bait.

But someone will still bite. I'm sure they will be very passionate too.

You already got a free bump from me. No more. But you aren't fooling anyone. There are guides online if you want to get better.

This was not meant to be bait, just expressing my opinion, is all.

The bigger heads issue with Genshin is because plenty of the playable characters are meant for a cute young/child-like Anime aesthetic. The taller more adult looking characters, some playable but mostly NPCs, have more standard proportions in that game. ToF has more characters on the tall adult body shape, with fewer going for the cute aesthetic. Add that most of ToF NPCs are either taller adults or actual children, with few characters sized in between.

So back to the playable characters, if we go by body type on for example, young male, Genshin has a large amount of those characters like Venti, Garou and even the new character released a few days ago, while it has less older male characters like Kaeya and Morax. Females are also very leaning towards cute, with mostly young females forming Genshin's line up, while character sizes are a bit more varied on ToF (minus children, ToF has no playable children). Shortest ToF playable character is Ene, I think. And she does fit the body shape of most Genshin playable females.

I suppose you are right. Genshin has younger characters so the "big head" aesthetic would fit more with them, but the older Genshin characters have smaller heads compared to their bodies, just like Tower of Fantasy characters.

The smaller head is the more or less correct ratio for a more realistic human shape. Big heads were created, if I remember something I read VERY long ago (and if it's actually true), so manga readers had an easier view of facial expressions. Of course the trend was very liked and stuck throughout the years (because big head + big eyes = cute to the human brain), even if the initial purpose (again if true) is less needed now.
