Control issue - Character keeps moving right, does not move left

At the beginning when it says you need to get your items from the trunk, and it shows to left click an object to interact with it. Well, the character automatically faces to the right. I can manually move up and down on the screen, but the character will automatically walk right when I let go of the up or down arrow keys. And it is impossible to move left. I thought might keys might be stuck, but they are working fine, except in this game.

I verified the integrity of my game cache. All is loaded up fine. I even deleted and re-installed the game just to make sure. And it is still doing this. Fresh game, without save loading. Still doing it.

I am on windows 7 64-bit, if this helps.

Exact same thing is happening to me, except I automatically travel down, can't go up, and it happened a fair way into the game at the bit in the school.

I had the same problem too (except it happened in a different place, and movement was to the left).

In short though:

1. Hit the key in the opposite direction to the one you automatically move in (so that you're standing still).
2. Unplug the keyboard.
3. Plug the keyboard back in.
4. Save the game.
5. Reboot the computer.
6. Next time you play, load in this save game and hopefully things should be okay.

This worked for me at any rate. Hope you manage to solve the problem too.

I managed to control it with the mouse, just had to make sure I was holding the up arrow first. It made the puzzles a timing thing more of a puzzle thing though :P Next time I rebooted the PC it worked fine. Bit of a pity, meant I played the game in two sittings on two days when you really need to play it all in one go.
