Thank you for the report, I'll investigate it as soon as I can.
Just to confirm my game also crashes at random in the first act in the house.. Its crashed on exiting the "funny/creepy/weird room" and on exiting the house afterwards... (Mac OS X 10.9)

Could you post the crashlog if you happen to run into it again?
It only crashed once for me on the way to the lighthouse with the kids (Mac OS X 10.9). The callstack for the crash is also in the sound thread but slightly different:

Just tried to play this, and it crashed after leaving the rabbit room, when I said I wanted to go the lighthouse. So I tried again, and it crashed again after leaving that room, but before the kids told me about going to the lighthouse.

Mid 2012 13" MacBook Pro, 2.5Ghz i5, 4GB, HD4000, 10.9.2. How do I find a crash log?
Same problem here running on a Mac - the game keeps crashing shortly after leaving the "weird" room. Is there any fix?

A workaround is to save just before the crash and load the game from that save point.
But if you can reproduce this issue everytime you play and you are willing/have the time to try something, please send me an email to [email address removed] so we can try something.
