That's the entire challenge of Pro Cyclist mode this year with AI getting fitness peaks and player character not. That's how the difficulty slider works by giving the AI higher stats, not smarter playing. Why would the devs actually put effort into bringing the AI up to modern gaming standards when they can just manipulate the rules behind the scenes?
Not a surprise to me. This game has always had 1 sole ai so higher difficulties has always been ai cheating.
I've seen several ai sprinters run out of red bar and have been able to win sprints as well so everything looks fine for now. Was this introduced with a patch?
Sure, it's happened that a breakaway wins a monument (O'Grady & Jackson in P-R) but that's different. And they aren't exactly crappy.
