No tutorial?

I don't understand what's happening, how combat works, what I'm supposed to do. Nothing has been explained and the controls feel awkward. The game looked cool on YouTube, but I haven't been having much fun so far. I feel like I've been thrown into the middle of someone else's playthrough for the first time.
