Some general thoughts on the game
Hey,
I saw this game through the video of parrying the nuke and wanted to see what it came from. After following you guys for a little bit I found the demo and here are my thoughts on it. First thing would be the style of the game which I really like. I just like how everything is a console in a dystopian future. Next item I really enjoyed is the look of the game, it feels like everything complements each other in the world building on the aesthetic. One thing that caught my attention is the lighting throughout the area is a little rough but I expected that. The starting area felt nice as it showed me the really cool movement you have implemented. I am guessing somewhat inspired by warframe but much faster and easier to pull off. Once in the open world I do like the circle that shows you a place of interest though it did disappear as I was exploring some other area. This lead to some confusion for me though eventually I found the items I was looking for. Some criticism from exploration would be it is difficult to tell what is intractable, I found the robot gets a dot above it when you can interact it is just hard to spot especially with the fast movement in the game. As for the combat I am a big fan of Sekiro and love parrying so that is a huge plus for me. The choice in weapons is nice and being able to switch between move sets easily I like. One thing is I ran into a possible glitch while fighting Sin where my weapon would switch randomly leading me to use an attack I did not suspect. Also, as others have said, some parry windows are a little messy. I spent a good hour on Sin and was able to parry most of his attacks though sometimes the windows felt like they changed. It could also be that I am bad at the game, truthfully I found the fight very fun and challenging. The second part of the fight was quite cinimatic and different (in a good way). I like the direction of the mystery and intrigue of how these machines are working. One item that I think would help is with the big robot's arm sweep it had red static which I assumed was not parry-able but some sort of info into what it meant would be much appreciated.
Anyway sorry for the long story of my play through of the demo my intention here is to just help with the development of the game. I am not a game developer and I hope that everything I said was taken with a grain of salt as I understand this is only a demo and does not represent the full game. However, I am looking forward to the development of V.A. Proxy and want to help in at least telling you how I saw the game.
