tough as nails + body armour has a very high chance of making you invincible - broken. avoid high player > farm people who can't aim (noobs) > acquire rampage > hunt high level player > activate rampage = immune to damage > kill other player > add this with divebomb and jackhammer (2 of the most unbalanced things in the game) and yeah... seems fair. the reason why most good players don't follow this mechanic / play style or anything similar anymore is because it's boring and we've grown out of it.
and fact > opinion. there are a lot of things that need fixing. look at the netcode for example. look at games like quake, unreal tournament and TF2. that's balanced and more playable in every way. you can't deny this game needs working on. sadly there's no hope.
Extreme inbalance of classes=some classes are "broken". If thats not your personal definition of the word broken in the same context then it still doesnt change at all that there is an extreme inbalance in the game and that other people's definition of inbalance in a game is "brokenness".
i can't counter someone who is invincible. i could hunt them down the whole game to prevent them from getting a rampage, but that's boring and takes all the fun outta the game and it's not exactly an effective "counter". i think the rampage system is a complete joke anyway. it's very unfair especially in its current state. Also if you have a little bit of brain-power it's easy to take a broken class and implement it into a specific playstyle that makes you almost invincible and very hard to counter. i know this. because i did this. so did a lot of decent smart / decent players. which is why it's more fun to make classes that have more of a balanced approach mainly because they allow you to develop new playstyles that are harder to master.
As for the buc being OP. Well i still find it harder to use than a lot more weapons.
what i'm saying is that 90% of the time you're no where to be found in game and then all of a sudden you're divebombing me with a rampage (making you invincible) so that i can't kill you. i used to do that too, but you know, i grew up and realised it's kinda impossible to beat, doesn't make me a better player and most of all it's boring to use because it's easy to use. the strat / playstyle is simply just heavily broken.
The guide is for humour and bants btw - it wasn't aimed directly at you and your cohorts, but merely at those who seem to feel accomplishment and superiororty out of abusing a lowbie loadout. As we all may know - that's kinda sad. I was meant to write a proper one much earlier on how easy it is to exploit the game with broken classes / playstyles and why they should be fixed, but i guess it doesn't matter. never had the time anyway and there's no developer insight either. just like with the netcode. i was looking into possibly making some performence improvements and maybe figuring a way of incorporating dedicated server capability, but i don't have the time now and personally i think structured class balance is a lot more important. sadly i don't think i could ever gain access or the knowledge in time to work on that aspect of the game and it would be up to monolith anyway.
P.S. Not gonna lie, yeah i took a beating from you and Will the other day, but when you're spamming where we spawn with rockets and i'm playing speedy i wouldn't actually consider it a "real beating". Also when Leo and I decided to play just like you and Will those few games, we figured out that your excellent strategy of camping and running away didn't achieve a good result for either of us. Not like we didn't forsee it.
Plus i don't think i see the point in winning against you in your class choice. maybe one day soon i will do it, but for now i don't wanna have a battle of who can play the cheapest / dirtiest, because it doesn't really prove anything.
