Game won't launch fix!

Hey everyone,

Ran into an issue a few days ago where Gotham City Impostors wouldn't launch and was able to debug it successfully - so I thought I would post the solution here for anyone else having the same problem.

The problem was when I would click on the game in steam and nothing would come up. Just simply a loading icon and nothing...

I did all the steps, reinstalled my nvidia driver, directx, vcredist, reboot, verify integrity, reinstall, etc. and no luck.

So I ran procmon and stepped through what the exe was trying to accomplish.

Turns out the game reads the path for your documents and tries to write files there if there are none. My current documents directory is set to a network share with limited right access. The game tries to access that share and crashes.

So instead, I changed my registry key where it points to my documents to another folder.

Registry location is:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders] and the key would be "Personal"
