GCI 2 could be awesome, hope dies last :)
I think it's a better bet to make a backwards compatible version for console so more people find the game. I doubt a sequel will ever be made because it was definitely meant as a one off thing, but I think there's nothing wrong with being hopeful for a sequel.
About optimisation: as time passes, pc's are getting faster, so i see no problem there, as this game runs perfectly even on a GTX560, which is equivalent to a modern laptop's entry/midrange GPU (GTX950M i.e.). Now with GTX1050 so popular, this game runs smoooooth.
