Really? because that reems one of the more rightous paths; Jackson may be innocent of murder, but he's guilty of theft of a large amount, money laundering, and tampering with the justice system, not counting adultery. If those crimes were brought to light, he would be in jail anyway.
By saving him, rooke does not recover her money, leaving her life destroyed and the killer gets away.
That last part cracked me up.
