I have 100% this game, AMA / Tips
Tips if you're looking for a single playthrough:
1. Set Time to Slowest
Time works by changing scenes/areas. You can see this clearly if you set the time to fastest. So you need to get a solid grasp of where things are and their shortcuts relative to your map.

2. Talk to everyone twice in a row/back-to-back (Day and Night; so x4 total) because this is the only way to get orders to take back to the restaurants (orders usually done around lunch time or noon up until nighttime with the exception of the trainstation guy who goes home at night). Also, I would do this first thing every day and every night before you do anything else. and make sure to pick up herbs/fish/etc. on the screen with the NPC since that doesn't take up any time from your clock.

3. Idk what the DJ "game" does or how it works. You don't need to know either, you just need to talk to the juice bar owner a few times to get all the songs. You may need to actually play the game a few times. I don't know.

4. One of the final parts is opened up by winning the Rock/Paper/Scissor tournament. I hope you enjoy pain and suffering. The only advice is to start off with your weakest attack every time. maybe 1/20 times they'll not bite. Only exception is the kid with the brontosaurus (long neck dino) which is played at no.2 in the tourney iirc. However, it's still not worth ever picking your strongest attack out of the gate from my experience. either weakest or next weakest.

5. Load up on Vegetables at the supermarket, you make a few yen but you can also get the 300 yen bonus multiple times per day by completing 5 tasks. Near the end everyone has more than 5 tasks so you can make easy money that way.

6. Almost everything else is unlocked during the story at some point. It may seem like you need to solve some kind of puzzle to open something. Nope, just wait. As long as you're talking to everyone.

7. Every area/scene change resets fish and bugs but not plants and I believe that some fish and bugs don't show up until week 2 and week 3 so you can't get them all in week 1. Ideally, you want to make a (mental) note of each area and then spend some time in the morning (prior to noon), some time Noon and after, and finally some time at dusk (when the sky turns orange) for grinding out fish and bugs. A few bugs you are going to struggle to see but using your net around trees is a good idea. Some VIP bugs will have special animations where they'll fly off and come back. The one you'll notice is next to your house. I don't think you can get that one because it never comes back from what I've seen. but keep an eye out because some of the rare bugs will show up pretty prominently in other areas that you can see from the area you're at. If you notice a bug off in the distance, that's probably a special one.

8. I found all but 2 bugs and 2 fish just being a dogged but I couldn't figure out some. There's a japanese guide I found with everything on it but google translate won't seem to translate the page for whatever reason. So I had to manually click around and figure it out. The have pictures of exactly the places to go but the names are often different so check the images.

Here, I noticed this, while sifting through my screenshots. :) (look at the window)

Any more tips on how to win the dinosaur tournament?

I'm using the 5 star card (No. 40) that boosts all of my skills by 100 but I still cant get past the second opponent. I'm on week 3 so my 1st opponent has 700 hp and 2nd opponent has 800 hp. I've been at it for over 2 hours now... this really is just unplayable. Are children supposed to be able to beat this game??

In dino battles outside of the tournament I would occasionally get hints about what the opponent's next move might be, but I don't see those at all in the tournament. Is that a bug?
ah ha. yeah that's not a bug. Only the "easy" and "normal" opponents give you clues occasionally. The normal ones typically say something like 'i'm going to use this next move twice.' So they don't even give you a heads up for the next move but the one after.

The only advice I can give after hours of grinding it would be that there's a usual pattern where they'll stick to two cards like paper, scissors. Since I'm almost sure the cpu is reading your input, the best you can actually hope for is a tie or to beat them on scissors if they go paper. I'm only speculating but it seems like a bad idea to pretty much ever use your biggest power card. if you do then it feels more like a coin flip than a rps game.
Enemy reading player's inputs is the best innovation in gaming /s

Does the game gets easier if we use weaker star card?
maybe, I really don't know. I did the tournament again after I won and they all had more HP but I was using a 4 star card when I won and a 5 star afterward. I don't know if the stars affect the non-tourny game or if HP just increased because I had already won.

I believe that's the mission I missed and you can't complete it if you missed something. Which is why, in my OP, I said the most important thing is talking to everyone, every day twice in a row. Specifically because that's how you get the recipe. You don't need it for 100% completion thankfully so you didn't really miss out. It's like 1 of 3 missions that are missable iirc and definitely the most easily missable one. If you're still in the chapter, and you talked to everyone, there will be something about it during dinner iirc

Here's the link, google translate doesn't seem to work on the page but you can open in another tab and figure it out. I'm going off of memory but I think this is the one.

bugs show up in more than one area and more than one time of day. I think the only ones that don't are the rare bugs you can see from across different areas.

The only achievement I have yet to get is Vegetable virtuoso. I've searched the whole map and every store but it won't pop. I don't know what veggies I'm missing or where to get them

The store doesn't sell a few of the veggies, you have to grow them. You're probably missing the thin carrot. Which takes the same amount of time as the ripe tomato. Theres three stages of vegetables. unripe, ripe and too ripe. You need the unripe and too ripe versions of each. So plant them, next day pluck them for unripe. wait next day, pluck ripe, then wait another day to pluck too ripe versions. I believe the store sells all the ripe versions of veggies. I may have confused you because the ripe tomato is a 'too ripe' version. just keep that in mind.

I was missing the thin carrot however it still didn't pop and I cannot work out what it is I'm missing.

I have;

Carrot
Thin Carrot
Big Carrot
Tomato
Green Tomato
Ripe Tomato
Bayberry
Red Raspberry
Ostrich Fern
Mizuna
Shiso
hmm I guess it may include stuff you pick up on the road:

edit: looks like you don't have any of the peppers

Here's a dirty goog translate:
thin carrot
ripe tomato
large carrot
red pepper
green tomato
green pepper
Bayberry
carrot
tomato
Kogomi tomato
garbage (muck?) : Pick up on the map "Water source forest dam".
bramble (prob raspberry)
Mizuna
Shiso

I do have both peppers. I forgot to include those in my reply. I am noticing an extra tomato in their list though compared to what I have. That must be it. The Kogomi tomato. Where do you get that?

Also, muck is something you can collect?

I have no idea what Garbage or Rubbish actually means. Kogomi Tomato is probably the large tomato which looks like you already have. I was under the assumption that you just needed the vegetables. So the stuff they sell at the store and all the stuff you can grow. You may want to have everything in your inventory to get it to pop. I was only missing a thin carrot, which I got and I believe it popped. If not, you may need to finish out the chapter / day. I can't remember what exactly happened. I think it popped immediately iirc but I don't remember well.

I can drum up my old saves, if you want to try that if this isn't working. At least you can see if anything is missing.
