EDIT: Nevermind, I thought you were talking about speedy time traveler.
It's doable if you manage your health and armor carefully, which will probably require a lot of save and load - this was the only "glitch" or "game manipulation" I took advantage of. There are also quite a few encounters where luck plays an important part, namely regarding enemy movements (so that they don't actually flank you) and also how frequently they are stunned after being shot.
It is more or less about applying the all-around shooter basics: stunlocking the enemies on the spot or forcing them to melee on the same spot by constantly 'touching' them and stepping backwards, luring them away from the group to take them out one by one, taking advantage of their hitboxes so that the one in the lead stops the others from coming at you from the sides, making use of the friendly fire, cutting / peeking around the corners by side-strafing and finally, circle-strafing when there aren't any covers available.
Chasm specific, remember that you can still dismember some of the foes with the rifle - i.e. jokers can be swiftly put out of their ranged attack. Also, the enemies can not open the doors or jump up to the higher steps / platforms - they are also damaged, or even killed by the doors closing on them. They are not *that* good at navigating around the map either. All of the 'surprise' spawns can be dealt with a few tries, as long as you try to keep your health and armor values high all the time - the latter is not hard either, since double healths and armor suits / helmets are aplenty. Make manual saves at the start of each level and use quicksaves throughout the map, just in case you botch up an encounter.
Thinking about it, the only map that gave me a challenge (a slight one at that) was the eleventh: Subterranean Horror - a bit puzzling to figure out how to go through it but it was worth all the hassle just for watching a certain door quickly turn to a joker grinder, heh.
First 2 episodes are just a matter of time, don't be greedy and you should be fine. Also save some health for the E1M4 level start because you will die in seconds (in E1M3 there are plenty of oportunities to boost your health to 150-200).
3rd episode:
1st Level
- a long walk in the park
2nd level
- the first major obstacle, pressing button will open walls with 3 vikings
- after using the wheel, quickly move forward and start shooting the first viking while moving forward-backwards (luring him with his melee attack)
- if everything goes right, the first viking will block the second one and you should be able to fight only one at a time (if the second goes pass the first one, reload)
- if you kill the first one, repeat the same strategy to seconds and third viking
3rd level
- one of the hardest part of this achievement
- at start, quickly move forward from the open area with 2 clowns and start shooting at the first boar while moving forward-backwards 1-2 meters (avoiding clown projectiles)
- with this strategy, you should avoid most damage from the clowns while stun-locking the boars
- after killing both boars, kill the 2 clowns and then the 3rd boar behing the corner
- at the end of the level with the gold key, try to lure and crush as many vikings as you can with the door (this will save you a lot of time)
4th level
- another hard part is the 3 boars spawning near the beginning
- my strategy was moving to one side and if all the boars allign to one side, you should be able to quickly run/jump pass them and then kill them easily
- if they won't alling properly, reload and repeat (took my ~7-10 tries)
- another "hard" part is 4 vikings spawning while the entry to the room is blocked
- this is easy, because you need to just move forward (vikings will spawn) and then quickly backwards (the barier won't trap you in the room)
4th episode:
1st level
- a mostly walk in the park
- the last part near exit can be a bit pain but all you need to do is lure enemies one-by-one and circle strafe
2nd level
- area with switch and closing door with 2 enemies
- my strategy was circle-strafing/jumping around them until the door finally opened (just a few seconds), because going to the big circle area was a death sentence
3rd level
- the start area can be also a pain
- the only strategy that worked for me was forward-backward shooting each "melee enemy" because there is not enough room for circle strafing (the wide area can be deceiving)
- area with the green card - pick up the card and jump down the stairs exiting the room (you should avoid all 4 enemies)
- area with the 4 switches (after you press all of them) - quickly run through the door and circle-strafe the imprisoned enemy in the center
- the door should close after a few seconds so you should be safe after killing all enemies in the room
4th level
- the only hard area is the first room
- do not lure the 4 plasma shooting enemies until you kill all the melee ones
even though I already have the achievement anyway:
Episode 01
Episode 02
Episode 03
I need to record the 4th episode.
The 3rd episode has been a headache.
