Any hats outside of the merchants? (for All Hats achievement)

Going for the all hats achievement, and I'm sure I visited all merchants and double-checked them. I think there were 2 merchants in each big area, but I could've missed one. But I've seen hats outside of merchants, so I might need to delve into something outside of buying.

Currently the things I know outside of merchants are :

- Tree : haunt a decent amount of trees
- Cowboy : from a cowboy minigame

I found the ice cream hat on the ground in one of the carnival stages. No idea what triggered it, or which map it was on.

On a somewhat related note, I see you have all star achievements in each area, but not the achievement for all stars. Is that one bugged?

And if so, is there a possibility that the all hats achievement is also bugged. It would suck if we found them all but assumed there were still more if the achievement didn't work.

I think I didn't collect all hats because I can see some empty spaces when I look at my hat collection. And yeah, the all stars achievement seems to be bugged

Note for myself) Found 34 hats for now.

1. Shop (8 shops in total, 2 shops for each area) : 8 hats in first area / 9 hats in second area / 6 hats in third area / 8 hats in fourth area = 31 hats

2. Additional hats : Ice Cream, Tree, Cowboy = 3 hats

Total hats seem to be 37 or so, probably missing hats in the additional hat category. I want to crunch my head into a ball

That count seems to mirror mine. Although I still need to backtrack to one of the stores to clear the rest of the inventory.

There are fewer hauntable objects in the later stages, so not sure what can hide them.

I was confident one would be hidden in a chest in the fourth area (cant destroy with your default weapon). But nothing. There was only one chest I couldnt destroy. You could tip on pillar on top, but no others would reach. Also, no hauntable enemies in that section for additional firepower.

Next theory is the guys around the ballroom that mock you for not having enough crystals. Wonder if you come back with X amount, it might award you something?

Did a quick check, but the NPCs that have dialogue about crystals doesn't really seem to be related with hats. I think they're just talking about how the main character threw away all their memory crystals

For the Eternal City stars, there are two that don't show up on the map that are for sale in the ballroom.

Did you have any issues getting these on Steam? On the Xbox version, you can buy them but you cannot collect them. I just wondered if there was a trick to it.

To be honest, those were bugged for me so I manually had to edit save files to get them.

Definately looks like one belongs between unicorn horn and tiara. And possibly another to left of tentacle hat.

Yup, and there could be another hat to the left of cat ears, though I'm not sure.

I tried associating the placements of hats to the locations they are found in hopes of at least narrowing down a location, but the placement seems completely random.

There is. I have a pair of horns at the end of that row, I think i got them after completing the sandworm/ship/vortex stuff as it seems to be part of the story? Alternatively maybe I picked up in that sand/void area from haunting some objects?

I see we are also missing one on bottom row, between top hat and unicorn on the three pronged hat rack, but no idea what that is.

I'm missing that broken/split seedling hat top row after the cat ears. I'm hoping I forgot a shop back in the forest/mushroom area, which I need to go back and check.

Oh, I have the horns, I'm wearing them so it doesn't show up in the collection. I think the seedling hat was from a shop, you should just check every shop you visited prior
