What is the Crystal Menu

Maybe I simply haven't reached a point in the game where I'm shown what the Crystal Menu is, but I'm just trying to figure out how to take the hat I'm wearing off.

Naw, same here. I want to take off the hat too. Already been to two hat shops multiple times and can't switch them out. Seems like a bug or something. I hate how my hat looks, too.

Thank you!!! Found the crystal menu, and am able to swap what hat I'm wearing, but do you know how to take the hat off so you're not wearing one?

I thought I'd eventually come across the mysterious crystal menu and stop being a tree. Only when I looked through a walkthrough did I realise the checkpoints were the crystal menu :D
