Hauntii - Release Day Megathread / Bug Reporting / FAQ
If you're reading this, we're already in the next world...

Eternity, that is, because Hauntii is officially OUT NOW!

We're so excited to share this experience with you. During our previous demo releases the feedback we got from the Steam forums was invaluable and helped us make the game even better, so thank you if you've contributed previously.

As of the launch, there are no major known issues. If that changes, this thread will be updated. If you encounter anything unexpected that impacts your playthrough, please report it to us through the bug report form here: https://forms.gle/nE8GWdEAUtQjyEXG7

During playtesting of early builds on PC and console we encountered a very small number of unexpected behaviours that resulted from 'button mashing' - rapidly pressing buttons without a reason to do so in-game. We have introduced failsafes for the ones we are presently aware of, and ask that if you experience something similar to please let us know through the above form. In all cases the issues can be avoided by refraining from excessive button mashing.

FAQ

1.What languages are supported?
English, Japanese, French, German, Spanish (ES + LATAM), Korean, BR Portuguese, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional)

2. Can I play on my Mac/Linux system?
No. This might change in the future if there is enough demand, but for now we recommend folks with Mac/Linux systems to pick the game up on a console instead.

3. How long is the game?
It takes approximately 8-10 hours to complete the main story, but completionists will likely spend longer collecting all stars and completing all constellations.

4. Is the game scary?
No. Hauntii explores some deeper philosophical themes but is not graphic, violent, or mature. The game is rated PEGI 3 and ESRB E For Everyone. There are many more uplifting and positive moments than introspective ones.

5. What accessibility features are in the game?
Exact features vary by platform due to first party constraints, but the PC version features fully remappable controls, a dyslexia friendly font option, various settings options relating to visuals, and audio sliders for different in-game elements. The game can be paused in all scenes outside of a handful of cutscenes, and is free of quick time events.

6. Are there achievements?
Yes. Steam, XB, and PS platforms feature a full trophy set.

7. Are there cloud saves?
Right now, cloud saves are only possible through native functions on console hardware. We hope to bring cloud saving to the Steam version at a later date. Players on XB platforms will be able to seamlessly transfer their play sessions between PC and console through the Play Anywhere program.

8. Are there Steam trading cards?
Not right now, but we'd love to make some and will jump on it as soon as we receive permission from Valve.

9. Can I play on Steam Deck?
While we haven't been afforded an official review from Valve yet, we have tested the game extensively on personal Steam Decks and have found it to run to an excellent standard. If you encounter any issues when playing on Deck, please report them to us via the bug report form and mention the Deck specifically.

We could never have made it this far without the support of our incredible community - thank you from the bottom of our cold, dead hearts.

Lots of love,
Moonloop Games & Firestoke

Please enable cloud saving ASAP. Syncing saves between Deck, PC and laptop is a basic requirement for playing... I'll have to hold off playing it if my saves aren't carried between my devices.

Thanks for the feedback, both! Cloud saving is planned for a future update very soon, and mouse sensitivity is an excellent idea.

Came across a trailer for the game on twitter today and it really captivated me, so I looked it up on steam and it convinced me to buy it immediately! Played for an hour and knew I had to buy the soundtrack and artbook as well.
However, after having downloaded it there's 3 versions of each track, and after listening to all 3 files of the first track they're seemingly identical.
Not an in-game bug so hopefully just saying it here is fine :)

I purchased both stars in the High Ballroom at the same time (bought one, then immediately went and bought the second before grabbing the first) and when I tried to collect them I was not able to, my character just passed through the stars. I exited the area and re-entered thinking it would just reset but when I returned both stars were gone. I figured maybe it just auto collected them, but now that I have collected all stars in the Eternal City (including from other vendors) I did not get the achievement for it, which means those stars were NOT collected and were in fact bugged out and lost. I was really looking forward to getting 100% completion in the game so this has bummed me out big time! Hoping there is some sort of fix for this, thanks for the awesome game!

building off of this, i cant collect the stars sold in the ballroom at all, they seem to be completely uncollectable. when i quit out and came back they were back in the store, though this might be because i didnt visit a save point after buying them. ive tried several times to quit out/rebuy and theyve never been collectable.

I feel like the sand whale race lacks visual queues for the position of the goals. The hit detection on the goals is also wonky.

Someone on an Xbox forum has reported that the admiral NPC on the Crashed Sandship stage that is tied to gifting you a star, disappears if you progress past the vortex boss.

This makes that star potentially missable.

Yep, we have a fix for this now out in the beta branch. After a bit of testing it'll be pushed to main.

I found a Sand Whale that was stuck, and got stuck with it, oops.
This was after getting Angel back but before the other two vortex stars. https://imgur.com/a/xZtuArU
