TRADE and PLANT not returning FALSE

According to the notes, the TRADE and PLANT functions should return FALSE if they are unsuccessful. But they do not.

		for y in range(s):
			trade(Items.Carrot_Seed,s)
			if False:
				to_get=num_items(Items.Carrot)
				break
			etc

The BREAK does not execute although output reports:

Warning: Tried to buy Items.Carrot_Seed but didn't have enough items.
In: Carrot
trade(Items.Carrot_Seed,s)
