Isn't there supposed to be a Campaign?

Sort of. The Exiled single player game is a randomised campaign. It's mildly scipted.

No, The exiled mode is only randomised scenario. Very long scenario with many events, but not a campaign.

The Exiled mode is the official campaign mode. The "Mod Campaigns" button in the main menu is reserved for campaigns made by the players (using the map editor).

Wel.. that's a bummer, and a bit of a lie then. I had expected a real campaign, not an afterthought with some timed events, it's the same as the Dremer thing in the DLC of the previous game then. I'm not sure how I feel about that, feel kind of cheated...

Exiled mode is really big - try it. Regarding this button - we had to put it there for Steam Workshop campaigns. i hope there will be many of them, as for now, there is a reference campaign on Steam Workshop, made by devs (Death or Life) - you can also play it.

Since this is an example to use as reference, can it be loaded into the editor? because it doesn;t show up as available when I get into the editor, only playable from the Mod Campaign button.

BTW, I've tried to play the reference scenario, and after the first screen (selecting monster spawn frequency and difficult) it doesn;t do anything. Just the image of the shards (which is quite pretty) and music but nothing else. I have to Alt-Tab out and kill the process in order to exit.

Why the devs don't made real classical campaign (with many linked together scenarios) included in game? I feel cheated too.

Do you not consider total war campaigns to be campaigns then? Cause this is the same thing.
Asuryan Apr 11, 2014 @ 2:55pm
Yes, I don't consider most total war campaigns as a real campaigns. As a real campaigns I consider Napoleon Total War (1 campaign included 3 scenarios), Empire Total War (4 scenarios tutorial campaign), Age of Wonders, Heroes of Might & Magic, Age of Empire II, etc.

So basically the only thing you consider a campaign is one with loading screens in between missions? Because Exiled mode has up to 30 lands, and each one can potentially be considered a mission. It's pretty ridiculous to have to have loading screens to signify something is a campaign.

It's very funny to win a scenario and go to another, new, with all learned spells from previosus, items, and heroes. I'm lowe loading screens, movies, etc with rich story about my victory and a new goal. BTW, official campaign Death or Life freeze me too on the first screen after chosing difficulty and monster spawn frequency.

Ok, I can play it from maps - nice 3 scenarios :)
