Games Specifically like Warlock 2?
I was looking around Steam for Strategy games that used world shards as a mechanic. Like how in Warlock 2, you slowly claim connected mini-worlds instead of one giant world. Do you guys know about any games that break up their maps in that style?

That is probably my favorite aspect of Warlock, with that feeling when you slowly colonize a new world until it can officially become 'one of your worlds'.

Try Eador. Masters of the Broken World. You might also try Planar Conquest, which has a little bit of that same vibe.

Thanks for the suggestions. Although I've played Eador, and it didn't seem like Warlock II, where you can go from mini-world to mini-world in the same game. But I only played the campaign a bit, so the sandbox mode might be different. So I may give it another shot.

And I'll take a look at Planar Conquest too.

Though, to be honest, I'll probably just play more of Warlock. I still need to finish my first Renaissance Modded game lol.

Planar Conquest is not a patch on Warlock 2. It is a game far less than the sum of its parts. If it wasn't for the stupid bugs in Warlock 2 I'd be playing it like crazy.

It's a whole genre. There are a ton of games to choose from!

-Sorcerer King (series, but get Rivals only)
-Planar Conquest (the only fully featured game of this type available on phones and tablets! Get it on those platforms!)
-Fallen Enchantress
-Heroes of Might & Magic/Might & Magic Heroes (series) (get 2, 3 and 5, skip 6, get 7)
-Eador (get all)
-Age of Wonders (series, but don't bother with 1 and 2, get 3)
-Endless Legend
-Disciples (series, get 2 and 3)
-World of Magic (you could skip this one and be OK)
-Lords of Magic (retro, never played it much)
-Master of Magic (the grandpa of all these games)

Most of these are easy to find on Steam. Some games are better to get on GOG, like the Heroes series, Lords of Magic, and Master of Magic.

- Don't get Fallen Enchantress

Get Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heros

FE is an older and worse game.

- Age of Wonders 3
