I just noticed that the first game says Vr supported instead of VR only...was that done recently?

This game has mechanics that wouldn't work outside of VR. You need to be able to control the character and manipulate things in the world at the same time which just wouldn't work well without VR

Sure you could make it work but I don't think it would be very satisfying to play. The whole charm of this game is the immersion and the way you interact with quill/the world.

I said this on the boneworks discussion board too, but most VR games are breaking any ground gameplay wise. It's the immersion and the way you interact with them that makes them so magical. 99% of VR games would just be mediocre if you played them on a flat screen with a normal control scheme and I don't think this one is necessarily any different. Mediocre might be a bit harsh but this game doesn't break any new ground, it's a pretty simple puzzle action game.

Also the way you can control quill while manipulating things with your hands is very satisfying and I don't see any way they could do that with flat screen. You'd have change the way some of the objects in the world work like the large swinging platforms that you have to hold in place while you maneuver Quill onto them. They'd have to make it so they are fixed in place while you move Quill and it would just be laborious rather than charming.

VR motion sickness requires motion to make someone sick.

Some games are made so that it is impossible to get sick, unless your hardware starts messing up, the movement will be 1:1 with your head, avoiding the motion disconnect that actually causes the sickness.

Even games with movement usually have teleport movement which gets rid of motion sickness.

This game have zero motion sickness because you only move your head.
