Game won't launch

Currently can't get the game to launch. I push launch and I get the question window for play, dx11, dx12. Choose one and nothing happens. Steam thinks it is running, but no icon on the task bar and task manager has no entry for the game. I have verified files, uninstalled and reinstalled, sync'd the clock, updated Epic Games Store. I have followed the instructions in the Having Issues post and nothing is helping. Is there a log I can go digging for??

My game worked. But after last Nvidia update 20.08.2024 this game doesn't work.

It worked for me only after I blocked Epic online services in my firewall.

Thanks for sharing your experiences here. We'll try to find a better solution for this going forward, and sorry your having this problem!

Someone had a similar issue in our Discord. Advice for them on the 17th was to:

Run the EpicOnlineServicesInstaller.exe file after you uninstall Epic Online Services from your PC. You can run that file from here: Steam\steamapps\common\DefiantImmortals (lmk if you need help uninstalling).

Someone had an issue again yesterday but worked after running Epic manually.

I'll add this discussion to the Discord thread, so hopefully we can continue identifying ways around this for now. I'll also add in that thread that blocking EOS in firewall has helped for some.

Setting my firewall to block outgoing connections to the Epic Games Store solved the issue for me. Thanks guys!!!!
