There are some resources like iron you can find easily in the first "biome" without having to face harder enemies, for example.
Enemies spawning randomly, higher chance for spawning at night, spawn triggered by mining or chopping and more dificult enemies should help this issue.
Quests and bosses should also be a requirement to advance in later "biomes".
The game is EA, but what is not finished should not be easilly explored. It will ruin the experience when released.
Also I forgot to mention silver and gold, but again, I found two spots where you can just mine the silver unguarded, and one for gold that sometimes has a couple wolves by it, that's it. You need these to complete mining quests.
Being able to gather all the materials to make a full set of ambrosia gear using your newbie leather and a simple spear/bow without ever making a decent weapon or any level of metal armor is... a huge problem. Don't get the wrong Idea I love the look and feel of this game, it's great, has some very nice original mechanics in places which work very well and has potential to be one of the best survival games. That's what I want it to be. That means I have to be blunt about it having the worst progression I've seen. This is a separate issue all together from the lack of content which I won't fault the devs for at this time given the circumstances of why they had to release it in such an early state.
