USB Controller Problems? SOLUTION FOUND!

You have to Emulate an Xbox 360 Controller
1. Download this:

2. Unzip and place file in JSR folder

Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Jet Set Radio

3. Run program and plug in your USB gamepad. If it's a common enough gamepad the setup
assistant should set everything up for you. And that's it.

Jeez that was a pain. Hope this post makes it easier for you. Time to finally play the game now.

in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common I see no "JSR folder" on a "SteamVR" folder. What should I do ? Running Windows7 64 bit

oh wait this thread is for JSR only or is this is a general fix for controllers.? What do users do if they dont play JSR?

Buy wireless XBOX 360 controller for windows it works fine.

Don't need to do this anymore with the steam controller integration. Go into the big picture overlay and have it check for whatever controller you're trying to use then find a config which works. Also lets you rebind controller inputs which is nice.

This emulator didn't solve my problem, i have a cheap ♥♥♥♥♥♥ controller and couldn't configure it with this. However i dowloaded this one and it worked and still is working like a charm. Try it for yourselves. The XInputTest is just for you to check if the controls are OK. You don't have to open it while running the game. The only thing you need is to put the DLLs in Jetsetradio.exe folder.
If some controls aren't how you like them just open the .ini and change them

bruh. I've tried everything. I'm using just a normal DS4 and nothing I do is working. The game wont even recognize that a controller is being used.

DS4 ain't supported. You have to use XPadder or something similar to map it.

Will this Solution also fix the game from remapping your controller to the Dreamcast setup?
cause my controller was working fine, and then all of a sudden i'm unable to use the camera, plus the spray & speedup buttion went to the bumpers. I'm using a Logitech controller.

The controller works in the game, but, like some people here, the button mapping has some errors, like my start being assigned to L1 and X assigned to Triangle.
This is particularly baffling to me because the mappings were absolutely fine throughout the six hours of gameplay I had, and then one day it simply decided it would't work anymore.

Ah, I tried turning on Big Picture mode, and that solved the erratic mapping issue for whatever reason.

Did anyone use a DS4 to play this game and it worked?? if so how did you do it? I already downloaded ds4 and Steam Big Picture Mode already recognizes it as an Xbox 360 controller. But the game still doesn't recognize it.

Been trying to use my Switch Pro Controller and follow these steps, but nothing has worked. This is the only game where it doesnt work. Any ideas?
