Jet Set Radio vs. Jet Set Radio Future: Which game should you get?
I made this for my friend who was having trouble deciding, posting it here for people having the same issue :)

Jet Set Radio vs. Jet Set Radio Future: Which game should you get?

Aesthetics: Jet Set Radio. Personally I think jet set radio looks nicer and has a cooler vibe while jet set radio future looks more bland and samey in comparison.

Graphics: Jet Set Radio Future. I mean, this isn't very surprising as jet set radio future was released on a later console with stronger and better hardware. The HD port of jet set radio is obviously better, but if you play jet set radio future on CXBX Reloaded, it looks absolutely STUNNING.

Gameplay: Tie. Ok, to save time I will be referring to jet set radio as JSR and jet set radio future as JSRF. The two games are very different in gameplay, JSR is much more arcady and is on a time limit, while JSRF is much more relaxed and doesn't have this arcady gameplay. JSRF has no time limit and encourages exploration more.

Controls: Jet Set Radio Future. Because the dreamcast only had one analog stick it made camera controls feel clunky and odd, while they fixed this somewhat in the HD port, it still is a problem. JSRF doesn't have this problem, but the graffiti controls is not very good.

Difficulty of JSR: 8.5/10

Difficulty of JSRF: 3.2/10

JSR is alot more challenging, due to the camera controls, time limit, and the fact that cops are alot harder to beat. Now, JSRF on the other hand is WAY to easy, but it somewhat makes up for this with a 10 hour campaign, which is higher than JSR's 6 hour campaign.

both are very good for getting that JSR vibe!
JSR for me.

JSRF got rid of all the tension by splitting up the tagging and police harassment into two separate phases and getting rid of the time limit. Makes the whole experience feel kind of meandering.

Mind you, JSRF still a cool game (and helped me understand the concept of love). But JSR is better IMO and one of my all time favourites.

Difficulty of obtaining is another factor to consider. Anyone not confident looking for isos and converting them to xbes should stick with the original.

Finding an iso is easy unless you have no idea how to use google and its not converting them to xbe more like extracting the iso and getting the xbe, also easy thanks to the extract xiso gui.
