My speculation, he's dead killed on that room for whatever reason.
Escort is fine as mechanic wise, but you considered dead when vip dead really sucks.
Other than that, the worst probably the Counter Ritual mission, you basically fighting against time, and if you have bad RNG and they spawn so far, it's game over.
Overall the new addition escort making the game play differently, which is cool.
While counter ritual basically you play the game as the same style as before, but with speedrun mentality, that's not really changing the gameplay. It's annoying, and cheap.
Not really safe if OP failed heading the elevator to finish the mission.
I've lost so many times after getting them to the safe spot that it just makes me kinda want to put the game down for now.
I can understand the intention of these missions, but like... It's not fine tuned or polished enough.
It's like the risk vs rewards is too skewed towards risk.
I liked the mechanics it's just not balanced.
Well, at least now I can equip them with drop from enemies. How to open their inventory tho?
Yeah, you guys need to do something about that.
The amounts of trail and error involved with escort missions has just made me write them off entirely.
>VIP dies? your character wipes.
okay.
>set VIP to attack as they follow, so if i hear gunshots i'll know they're getting snuck up on.
>Makes the VIP rush into a doorway and act hyper aggressive, getting in the way of my shots AND lining himself up to get blown away by a full room.
uhh... alright. So the extremely limited controls over my escorts AI makes this a pain..
>can give the escort gear to try and mitigate their chances of getting insta gibbed.
>they still get splattered with wounds and even while set to stand, will walk all over the place taking movement damage till they die.
More "not doing as told" huh? cool.
>Give them gear and make it to the end of the mission
>mission complete
"Alright, guess i'll explore the level some to get loot and exit."
>random patrolled into the escorts room and he got murdered
>YOU DIED, HUEH HUEH HUEH
At this point, whatever optimal strat you want to come up with to complete the mission is invalidated by the fact that your time spent doing literally any other operation will reward you far more, and is far less risky.
