VIPs, deployable Automated Robots and tamed spiders just try to follow you and stay at 3 range, backing away if you end turn at 2 and coming closer otherwise. They apparently love to shoot you in the back and you can't send ARs onwards to avoid that. VIP dying kills you so usually people stick em into broom closet.
You can also deploy turrets and they are at least somewhat reliable at holding their ground.
Some fellow defenders on control/defence/security missions or workers during inflitrations would be awesome.
Then open it back up a few turns later, and there's just blood and body parts littered everywhere. Unless of course it rips the door down and tries to eat your face first.
