The ship upgrade that scans floor helps in cherry picking the places you go to, should you at some point inevitably decide not to full clear anymore.
Just hoped there was some more reliable way.
At 0.7 at some point you would swim in chips from trading, but currently I'm feeling like I'm always in scarce. Spamming missions and skipping them mostly nets a small amount which can help but that wouldn't cut it tbf.
Magnum is already maxed and started having tech7+ armor, let alone swimming in comps/meds from dissasembler.
Just wonder as I still haven't even scratched tinkering items as my luck hasn't blessed me yet (let alone the cost for the high tier weapons :P)
I've had quite a few chips in .8 but i've had a run where i managed to screw myself on classchips as in not prioritize early game missions that reward them, and once the tech level increases, chips as a reward become very rare. And generally speaking yes, class chips i got a bunch less of. but blue chips i've gotten more of in .8 so i'm not too sure.
Hmmm I see.
Well, ill see what can I find to farm them more reliably.
Ill guess next playthrough Ill try to jeopardize my rep to farm random trades to see if they net some profit in that regard. Though high rep is my first prio to rush early high level magnum. Getting the scanner / dissasembler is such a great combo.
Ahh too bad they died off in current playthrough.
Oh well, we work with what we have. So far trading hasn't netted anything of value and rushing missions seems to do the trick, but with how costly crafting is I don't think its gonna be viable except for heavy grind but at that point the solar system will be controlled by a single faction.
You can increase loot difficulty setting up to 300% in save file, that will also increase number of chips
Also, devs mentioned that new trade is not final, and they are planning to make fetching recipes more reliable
magnum upgrades will get you more chips spawning in maps and with the scanning that comes with that you'll b e able to scroll the map to see them and speedrun missions otherwise if you're done needing resources
Personally I've found until you get all your ship upgrades you're still trudging around in the early game.
Some missions I replay a few times because for 3 floors I get almost always high tech chip and few common ones, and on other missions I replay them few times and its always 1-2 basic chips and maybe a mind or class chip, and in both cases its pretty consistent. Maybe its dependent on station tech, power, or faction controlling it, but I was unable to understand the correlation, because when mission is already posted I cant see station stats. Btw I play on 300% item drops and fully upgraded ship.
