Second story mission on Venus
I had around 10 tries on it and it always comes up with new random BS everytime, from enemies camping at your arrival (I literally had 1 axe guy + 3 heavy marines during my 4th spawn) to map generation puting exit into god knows where, not to take into account absolute load of enemies on each floor and even if you bring Q-morph reduction items killing and stalling will still move it high levels.

Was this mission tested on current patch? It seems overly difficult and random for no good reason. I have factions around tech level 4 and see little ways how I can complete it without super late-game gear or abusing some broken stuff (outside of my character RNG aim)

Story missions lack a difficulty warning but they are mostly endgame and you need to come here with a lot of ammo and good armor.
There are many things that can help like turrets, grenades, morphine but its not worth doing now.
They deal poison damage with their guns and cut damage so you would need some endgame armors from top 3 corporations.
Or just a super percy with ranks unlocked and a colonel rank😬👍
The new classes are also pretty good at fighting.
I would just wait since its a resource sink

The funiest thing about this mision is that its obviously meant for a late game run, but they give tutorials like
-Remember to reload
-Your equipment has durability
-You are hurt, it happens!
Really silly, they need to patch it.

yeah giving you an endgame mission to do the first time you shot up at earth is just bad game design.

make it pop up later so you can actually be feasibly prepared for it

i just lost my percy with 60+ resistance in every physical category bc those realware dudes are extremely tanky, have better weapons than i can get rn and worst of all, have like 2 or 3 actions each

worst of all, I DIDN'T GET TO KEEP MY SHUTTLE LOOT FFS

gonna go play something else for a bit, bc of how much that last one pisses me off...

Just had this happen to me the other day and it pretty much made me submit a refund request which I canceled after the playerbase told me that the actual game is in the other direction away from the story.

The current patch JUST added this in and the testing is happening right now, there have been some tweaks and balances to the mission... The worst part is at the very end but this mission is trying out new things on the devs end since they've made the game easier gotta make it tougher somehow.

Wait a minute? The shuttle upgrades don't work? I've heard that when you "return" to the surface that entire map is a brand new map and either on purpose or accident made the shuttle default un-upgraded version, were you able to use the capsule? Honestly it might be better running with max q-level than messing with the OP-geared realware dudes.

Yeah, fun mission, got enemies with 60+ armor while my best guns deal like 40 dmg. Way too random and def ment for endgame, but for whatever reason gives tutorial tips and is given straight away.

DON'T FIGHT ANY OF THE CHURCH DUDES.

THEY MOVE 3 TILES AT A TIME! And hit three times with melee, and killed all 4 of my clones, effectively wiping out the last 3 missions of gathered items.

Jesus, I can't believe I gave this game a second shot.

It's a rogue lite man, everyone and I mean everyone closes these games in frustration now and then. Breathe play something else, try again. Death means nothing in this game. You have an infinite supply of problem solvers (mercs) to throw at it.

Bro this game specifically seems to punch you at every turn no matter how hard you try to adapt. I love Roguelikes, but why is this one made to deliberately be so frustrating? Jesus.

How did you get story mission?
For context, I skipped tutorial for these patch.

You will start with a quest item in the ship. Barter such item to the AnCom and wait few days. Do not hand the quest item to other faction.

Wasn't the Venus quest like the 2nd story quest? It shouldn't be as hard as it is. Hard quests should exist, but not right at the start.
I did that quest a few times then gave up cause it was too hard with my current gear.
I started a new save shortly after. Didn't even bother doing that quest. Then somehow I got called by one of the quasimorph dudes calling to meet him on Venus and kill a lot of folks to summon him. I'm a bit worried about going back to Venus.

The game gives you a option to do it. It is possible to do it early game.
You don't need to worry about that quasimorph quest, its fuuun.

i didn't try using the capsule bc i had upgraded my shuttle a fair bit and hadn't filled it yet, plus i was still on the first floor (didn't even get to the elevator)

i filled it up with loot from nearby enemies and containers and then i went to complete the mission. i died, which sucked, but expected to get the loot i put in the shuttle, but nope :(

What happened exactly? And did you check the 1st cargo hold tab? The loot from the capsule and the shuttle should automatically be placed there.
