How to throw a weapon to someone with the intention of harming them?

Suppose I have lots of guns, each gun with their own ammo, I'm shooting to someone and I'm out of bullets. How do I violently throw my empty weapon to someone so I can change weapons while he's damaged or stunned?

You can throw only melee weapons. To do it you have to hold Shift and LMB click an enemy. The max range of throwing weapons is 5 tiles including yours.

You can't throw any ranged weapons, at least for now. Only some melee weapons like knifes and axes can be thrown

To be fair, given what kinds of enemies you face, most of them would probably be fairly unimpressed by having a gun thrown at them.
