Can you cancel a project on the ship?
I tested out the arsenal modding mechanic on the ship just to see how it works on the basic pants, but it looks like the project might be locked in?

i see how hot swapping projects would defeat the point of having slots, so maybe having a really long timer to cancel a project would make it more balance, perhaps something like 50h?

We'll think about it. We have some ideas.

A warning that projects are currently permanent would be handy. I threw in a Storm TT to see how the system worked, I'm just glad the weapon is pretty darn handy now.

good to know! though In hindsight, a timer isn't really enough to keep people from swapping too much. Maybe require a few mid-tier items to re-slot something.

I agree, instead of a timer, is it instead requires specific components to reconfigure the project assembly for a new armour/weapon. Thus enabled new projects to be swapped out, alternatively it could use both. If there is no available components to use to reset the project slot then it would take around 40-60 hrs, however using the components would reduce the overall time to 6-12hrs.

ah just ran into this, i now permanently have a t shirt locked into my armor slots lol. Would it be possible to set it so you lose all the materials involved and reset modded items to base items once you remove it? Same with other slot upgrades like the genome etc those materials get expensive so if you pour in the resources and then remove the project you not only lose the materials but the project itself reverts to base status, then you'd only do it if you were ready to permanently move on to a new clone/weapon/armor etc

oh but someone did make a mod to add a remove-project command to the dev console, I don't think it works on genome projects but it works on arsenal projects https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3300083836&searchtext=
