Drop/Escape Pod Issues
Playing through the new update, working my way through the ship upgrade trees, I have noticed that the drop pods...don't.

I will call for them, and Jane will tell me that it 'should land somewhere nearby, accompanied by a whooshing and thump noise.

But the pod never actually shows up, as far as I can tell, *anywhere* on the map. I am six for six on drop pods not appearing when called, even when I fully explore a floor. I even used a dataminer on attempt 5 just to make sure I was not going crazy.

Anybody else experiencing this?

Are you sure you looked everywhere? Also drop pods should be marked on your minimap.

I will call the dropod down in the next few missions and check on the minimap. I will post here again if the problem recurs.

I call one on practically every mission, and it always spawns, though it does sometime spawn over a full map screen away from the current location, in the unexplored part of the map, so you may need to scroll the map around (too bad you can't just drag it with the mouse and use to use arrows nevermind, you can, no idea why it didn't work for me before).

The more pressing issue is that capsules seem to be magnetised to narrow passages, because about 30% of the time one drops in a 1-wide passage (such as right in front of the door), and locks out large chunks of the floor. So far it has never softlocked a mission, but still

You can destroy it, but this probably defeats the purpose.

I'm gonna be honest, I'd recommend that the Devs make it drop in the shuttle room or in the elevator room of the floor you're on.

Nah, I think the design is good. First, this game is supposed to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, so it blocking pathways is awesome, if that happens, just shoot the walls until they break. The only walls that can't be broken are stone ones, such as from the first floor of planetary outposts, but then why are you summoning the capsule on the first floor. Secondly, your complaint is that sometimes they end up blocking off portions of the map, and to that I ask, why are you summoning it mid clear of a floor? When you have the entire floor cleared, you can easily find it through the fog of war anyways.

To guarantee it wont block passage pod could intentionally land inside destructible wall or object like empty shelf.

You can destroy any walls with guns. so shoot your way around it.
Even rockwalls can be destroyed but they take a few shots.

hi in a previous version, some of the shiney (robocop-looking) metal walls could not be destroyed, maybe that changed now, but i remember trying to shoot them with like 15 shotgun blasts and it just riddled the wall with bullet holes :)

cannot progress, drop pod completely walled me in
i actually cannot get to the mission objective because the capsule blocked the only way forward, i tried to break down a barricade to get past by slowly meleeing it

still nothing, i cannot walk past the destroyed barricade

am i suppose to just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lose because theres no reloading? just make my merc shoot himself? what the hell am i meant to do about this?

workaround for anyone who sees this, if you have spare ammo or can find junk ammo (ammo you dont plan to use for a gun you dont plan to use)

start shooting at a wall to a connecting room of some kind, you cant melee walls sadly but basically? pickaxe your way into another room

This. Walls can be shot down; extremely useful at many times.

Yep, you can break walls to create any passage, it's generally a useful skill in normal gameplay too.

As for capsule, we are gonna make sure it doesn't spawn in passages, in elevator exists, and on top of mission objectives in upcoming patch.

With upgraded weapons you will be accidentally blowing holes everywhere with full auto fire. (un?)fortunately can opening spaceships doesn't blow everyone into space.

p.s LOL killing so many in one spot makes a passage blocking meat pile.
