What am I supposed to do now?

I'm a new player and have like 13h in this game. I've gotten the Quasi faction to 100 relations by doing random elim/sabo/espionage missions. There's no goal or anything that I can see, is the game just do this over and over with harder enemies and nothing else?

I've seen people talk about stuff like killing or siding with the Quasi faction and a bunch of other stuff(all of which sound like story missions or something) but I haven't seen anything of the sort. Am I missing something?

It just feels like I'm missing something crucial for the normal progression of the game. If I'm not missing anything then the game is very bare-bones. I like the gameplay but there isn't really anything beyond just jumping in, getting swarmed, hoping you don't die after killing 2 barons in a 4-5 skull mission by the time you get to the 5th floor, picking up mission item and that's about it?

have you unlocked the "feathered masks" faction ? if i remenber you must have your q-morphosis jauge over 1000 in venus i think then someone will speak to you during the mission a give an item to make a pact (gannix pact for my part).

I've killed barons in other places(by reaching 1k) but never in Venus. I'll go do that now, and have collected a few Pact item thingies but didn't know what to do with them. It would be helpful if there was something in the game that said what you said(and I didn't have to go look on Steam discussion for the answer), or if there was something like that and I didn't spot it then we need some sort of mission tracker in game.

You need to go to Venus to start a quest. then the game will tell you everything you need to do each quest in "Text dialogue" no rewatch or quest marker so you better screen capture it and re-read.
Currently there are 4 main quest mission (not count tutorial). Last quest will give you a "OP Spear weapon" if you got it then you reach the end of EA story mission for now.

there are also several side goals you can set yourself too, for example:
- picking a few factions and trying to get them to the top of the leader board
- funding and unlocking every Blue / Green / Red chip for Recipes, Characters and Classes
- levelling-up every different character in terms of all skills/traits.
- finding / obtaining / crafting and storing at least 1 full stack of every item in the game in your ship cargo :o)
- using 1 of every med
- eating 1 of every food (i made a food quest guide if you get stuck)
- trying to complete a mission with each set of armour, without taking durability damage at the end :)
- trying to kill a monster with every weapon at least once
- trying to kill a monster with every melee weapon at least once (monster = enemy)
etc :)
(you could even include trying to kill an enemy with "something" thrown at them which caused the killing hit, such as a heart, knife, other throwable :) for every throwable item at least 1 time.

also trying to get your ratio of Kills per Mission on the stats screen, as high as possible ;) (mine was i think about 108 before the 0.6 beta+ versions), currently its about 58 lol

(actually, these could even be some high level achievements in the game :)

thats a useful link - i didnt know all those story event points yet - will be handy for future, currently am just trying to do missions and gather/unlock more stuff :)
