I'm not fully understanding action points.
So earlier today. I was on low health, in regular stance (2 ap), and used a max-doc (idk if thats the name, but the kit that heals 25 hp and all injuries). Instead of healing I instantly die of injuries to the upper body (or something along those lines).

There are other times where enemies will make moves half way through my turn. For example I am sprinting from 2 tiles away to melee and therefore have one action point to attack before the enemy's turn, but instead when I get close to them they melee me (often stun locking me).

Does anyone have a good guide on action points/turn order that covers the details and edge cases? Its a pretty fun game, but the majority of the time when I die I don't really know what I did wrong.

The only one i can comment on is when enemy goes to move during your turn. Usually happens when you take an action in run and then switch to sprint. No idea if this is a bug or to prevent you from cheesing with midturn switching.

No idea about your health pack death. How much HP did you have? Were you suffering from poison or another DOT?

ad 1 - can't say with certainty, i don't know, but i imagine that healing takes effect as last action in that turn. your case - you had injury that hurt your HP per action point. i assume the HP damage from action-applying the Doc box is given first, then healing would occur. but you didn't have enough HP to survive the injury. hence death. i assume that's the order..

ad 2 appears to be a bug that devs i believe are aware of and i hope they'll address that, sooner or later.. i have heard of this behaviour (enemy action mid your actions) from here and reddit, so it happens..

ad 3 not really, just watched some vids on tube.. Sseth's video is very informative. from that i took sneaking is great to find enemies. sneaking-opening doors does not cost action. i open doors while sneaking, always. then decide if i can kill all in 3turns safely, or lure them out.
when i move around corners, i sprint-first action around, to see if safe or retreat.
and that's about it.

That kinda of makes sense, but if a dev sees this, I would really encourage healing to take place first on a turn to avoid scenarios like this as it felt kind of frustrating and confusing.

Good to know that part 2 is probably a bug and not the expected behavior.

We'll look into this and if there are issues then will fix them to the next major update Q1 2024.
