Can we stop dying to one attack please?
Look I know this is a rogue lit where you are going to die a lot, but what’s the point of armor or even healing items when the enemy just slap you for a billion damage and you just go welp I guess I die now. The more elite should hit hard but, me being prepared should count for something. I feel elite should kill you in 3 turn this is not counting the turns needed to patch your self together. The bosses I understand if they kill you in one turn, they are the cream of the crop you are the Jerry to their Tom you will have to plan your attack. Bottom line just give the PC little bit more durability please.

If you say so man, I would like to point out that this is not a one time deal this is very common thing in the game. I don’t think this would make the game easier, simply more strategic my position is far more important than whether or not I burst fire the enemy and they die first. If you get surrounded by demons or spider you would still die.

The easy poor way to not die is Percy + Tunnel Rat + Impactor armor set. Has decent resists (although you still can die). Taiga ANKM / Jeffhammer for shotgun fun.
Learn to use the movement system: crouch to doors, open them (in crouch it's free) and either use grenades in walking or just shoot everyone.
Stun grenades are your best friends.
Enemies can be stunned from your damage.
Always be on your guard.
Pick few factions who will be your friends and never work against them.

Good for you bro, as for the rest of us average Joe’s, this game can get crazy. I am also glad the game never glitched out on you. Like this I got out of a elevator and no clipped into an enemy. kill the other enemies but I could not shoot the enemy I no clipped into and died after he beat me so death.

There really is only 2 class in the game 3 if you reach. The main class are “Scouts of Hades” despite the name their damage is insane. The other class is “Tunnel Rats” their damage is not as crazy as the scouts but that’s not why you play them it’s the fact they can get 4 random items from enemies at max level, that makes them nuts. The last class is ok “Phoenix Brigade” is just ok their skill are all over the place. The main skill is the fire skill with 18 fire resistance you can not be harmed by fire, the weapon used by them is always the flamethrower. As for the best weapon in the game, at the moment shotgun is the best. Shotgun ammo is just very common as well as being a very good general ammo type for most enemies.

Sounds like you've not fought crossbow demons then. Those things routinely one shot.

he's retarded, ignore him. One tap balance is a complaint that people are constantly making, and yes they can back it up with evidence that its unavoidable at times.

I like how the devs didn't actually give anyone a solution to being one tapped and posted the meta build most people steamroll with anyway, but at least made sure to add "oh, you can still die though" with basically radio silence on exactly how you prevent that.

So I guess even the devs have no solution to being one tapped consistently.

i need to get use of the turnbase in this game. Sometime i forgot to reload weapon in firefight and get shot in the back while try run away to cover.

https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198047844879/screenshot/2283951274279343488/ found this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gem of an item. Its basically designed to delete one thing since it has 1 ammo capacity, the reload is awful, but it basically isn't supposed to miss at any range. This item is essentially designed to one tap the player even in cover, please fix.

At some point you're either immortal or you die from one shots.
The in between just stops being a thing.
Neyreyan_Youtube Dec 7, 2023 @ 4:51pm
Yeey,i am happy to see many people bring this in disscusion.
The game has a lot of 1 shot unavoidable deaths since day 1.
I recently died 2 times in 20 minutes to quasimorphs waiting behind a corner:) Lost endgame gear faster than i could finish a single mission

Eventually you died tho so wtf is your point? If the game was fair you wouldn't die at all. I have chains of missions completed with multiple characters as well, but that they all consistently get their winstreak smacked by one tap bs tells me there is something going wrong with those enemies in specific, I don't understand.

That multiple people are having the same exact issue doesn't indicate "skill issue" it indicates there is a consistent problem, that's how consensus works.

One shots are 100% possible to play around because all shots are 100% possible to play around until you get bored and try to have fun. This whole "play around" the instakill is the problem, makes you play in one specific way and no other, abuse the poor AI by corner peeking, none of medical items matter, none of your armor matters, the only thing in this game that will kill you *is* the instakill and it will get you eventually.

Getting one tapped feels empty, surviving by the skin of your teeth feels rewarding. Too bad it's all former and none of the latter in this game.
Vic Dec 7, 2023 @ 5:31pm
Except you don't play around onetaps because whether or not you can avoid them is not subject to player skill, but RNG.

Lets assume an enemy spawns behind a wall and you have sneak on so you know they're in there, it so happens he is a one tapper that is running a staff that's almost guaranteed to at least injure you and kill you on many classes with low HP pools and a randcrit is going to kill every character in the game with the best armour possible.

You can sneak to open the door, then you can use run stance to go in, shoot, and run into safety. You will get to do this around 2-3 times, you have a -25% pentalty to accuracy in run stance, he can have upwards of 40 HP to get through and you will not do any damage by missing.

Round 1, you fire, you miss, he moves 2 stops towards the door.

Round 2, you go in, fire, retreat to prevent retaliation damage.

Round 3, he now has closed in on you, you won't be able to retreat in this round, because when you try to do that he is going to move past the door and onetap you.

You missed your shots, the RNG just broke the game, you have no counterplay, you die. That's the state of the game, you kill the enemies and RNG harder (LMAO just RNG BETTER) to win, or you lose, that's not a skill issue.

Not to mention this is an extremely favourable situation which doesn't account for the fact at 400+ ecolapse, enemies can commonly spawn in with onetap gear and catch you out of position, and you will not get the chance to retreat, which means you either kill them this turn or die, stop talking such utter ♥♥♥♥ about skill issues. You have no clue what you're saying.
