Quasimorph
How exactly does the "zzz" sleeping mechanic work ?
Can someone explain ?

Are the details noted somewhere ? Because thats just as much as I know haha. I want to know stuff like does it matter if you sneak around them, what wakes them up, does it run out on its own, how large is the distance around them in which they are woken. Stuff like that

Never saw details on this. Would be cool to know indeed.

There are two notable things from own experience though.
During Somnia enemies often lost aggro at any inopportune moment so instead of luring them out i had to return for them.
It seems enemies might belong to groups and share aggro. Very noticeable with spiders. If i wound one it may even immediately fall asleep and wont go after me. When one is killed whole pack will rush from 10 tiles away and wont go back to sleeping.

Thanks for sharing your experiences ! What Ive noticed so far is very inconsistent. Id open a door sneaking, see like 5 enemies in a room sleeping, switch to sprint, and murder tham all with my melee weapon without them really waking up in the process. NPC behaviour seems very haphazard. Would be cool if the game explained this mechanic in more detail. Maybe the dev can shed some light on this

Guess silent weapons also factor into it somehow. I'll need to try it on Enigma.
Yeah I was wondering about that too. The silenced guns seem underwhelming because they dont have a full auto option. Which in my experience, is the only way they measure up to stronger guns. But if they allowed a stealthy approach that could be super cool. Need to do some more testing on how they react to that. But I assume that the AI rework that is planned will make stealth more of a thing ? One can hope.

If theres one thing the game could use its more variety in how you can tackle missions

Speaking strong silenced weapons Prism and Crossbow are silenced too. If Crossbow has some accuracy and range limits Prism is plain killer of worlds. And yourself cause if you shoot door point blank with it or shoot from cover diagonally it also hits square you stand on. Sometimes.

Thats terrifying lol. I dont use the saw launcher for that reason. One too many limbs have been cut off due to it

Same :cleandino:
One saw shot - both legs away. ~50% to skip turn on every step for the rest of mission.

when the sawblade got my character a 2nd time (with me firing it) i started dismantling each one i ever found, to prevent the enemies from picking it up (in case that was a feature) :)

but now i actually try to extract with them, since they are worth about 200 trade points (+/- 50) and i also recently found the chip to craft them too)

the only problem now, is that i dont actually know if trading them will mean that some enemies now will spawn with them against me, more often? :lunar2019grinningpig:

Yeah I destroy them on sight as well hahaha. Those things are just too dangerous. I think what decides a companies equipment is its technology level. The specific weaponms they get from it are dependant on their company. Afaik the saw launcher is one of the civil resistance weapons ( not exclusively but commonly found there ) just like the dreaded flamethrower

ah you might be right, in that case it should be fine to leave them intact on the battlefield for pickup later :) (hides sawblade into a soda machine) :lunar2019piginablanket:
