Melee bonuses with guns
In case anyone is unaware, you can melee enemies with your equipped firearm/beam gun or whatever by moving into/past them. I feel like this is a pretty well known thing.

Does anyone happen to know if that damage can fluctuate at all, depending on which gun you're holding? If it doesn't, I think this should be something the devs should consider adding. The Ripper pistol has a little chainsaw bayonet, as an example, and should do a little more damage on a melee attack.

The battlestaff would be another good candidate for it too!

that handy to know,
i saw something similar happen when i placed a turret down, in a defence mission, where (unfortunatley) i tried to move into an adjacent square diagonally, and my character melee attacked the turret :) (luckily it didnt take damage this time, but i think it had in a previous game)

edit: if the game can not do that by default for turrets we place down, it will be good i think, but if we manually try to attack it and it lets us, that is also good in case we trap ourselves in a room by mistake.
