Fricking DOORS
Please please plEASE don't make my character beeline for an open door if I accidentally right-click on it while trying to inspect things. I have died at LEAST three times JUST because of this. PLEASE.

Z to sneak open door while in sneak (it a free action) x to change stance to walk if using a shotgun or a full auto weapon you can get away with X to Run mode (3 action but no item usage) you should be able to clear rooms easily

I... don't think you understand what I mean. The door is already open. I don't even mean to move. I'm right-clicking to examine things from afar, but right-clicking on a door - uniquely - will cause you to immediately run to the door and try to open/close it. As far as I know, it's the only instance where right-click will actually force your character to MOVE as opposed to simply examining things from a distance.

Suddenly burning even just one turn on an unexpected movement is so incredibly dangerous in this game.

Should still sneak as the game does prevent (most of of time) auto movement when enemies are detected and sneaking let's you detected enemies.
I do understand you want a way to prevent the whole oh I accidentally click on a object and now I am surrounded by 5 enemies with one 1 to no turns left.
Sneaking is a soft fix to it.

I don't want a way to prevent it. I want the interaction to not trigger auto-movement. It's unnecessary and I think it should be removed, because any convenience it theoretically affords the player is completely undermined and outweighed by its spectacular capacity to instantly kill a player's run.

Yeah, adding a toggle for it or something would be nice, I guess? But you can already auto-path through closed doors, and auto-path right up to the door itself. There's just no good use for it.

Put simply: I don't want the tool which inspects things at a distance to also randomly make me WALK ACROSS THE ROOM instead, REGARDLESS of circumstance.

Definitely. It is nice qol to onetap close doors when doing door shenanegans but character dashing across the room mid combat to lock it instead of checking health of mob standing tile above or below doorframe is a menace.
Same for looting tall shelves instead of shooting enemy behind it. Pixel hunt at its finest.

I'd much prefere this auto interactions require pressed ALT like we use CTRL to walk without looting while normal clicks would bring up menue to choose action.
Well, vice versa it would work too. If pressed ALT made left click bring up menue instead of immediately starting action it would solve this door and loot issue.

hi i think right clicking on a door when not directly next to the door, should either not do anything, OR should bring up the context menu where you can choose an option, in which case choosing would auto move, and escaping out of that context window (or any clicking outside of that popup) would close the popup :)

edit: for the shelves, i have also struggled a bit to mouse over and click on an item on the floor, which is directly behind a shelf. but i think the best quick fix would be to simply make the shelf gfx 25% shorter and not as tall :)

I agree, and these are probably the easiest possible fixes to be implemented for this.

just to also add, that in case your character starts moving by mistake, there is a way to cancel the movement if quick enough, by quickly clicking somewhere else, which can help a bit meanwhile
