Quasimorph

How does trading work?
I'm not sure if there is a currency or anything, I traded a bunch of materials at one point and got medical supplies.

Its entirely bartering, what you give only has certain values, what they actually are only affects who takes it. For example, Ancom will take packaged foods, water, and quads and in return they will give you shotguns, bags, and melee weapons. Meanwhile the pharmacist guys will take eyes, organ containers, and those flesh things, and in return will give you medical supplies. You can check a little bit of their loot pool in the stock exchange to get a good idea of what theyll give you during bartering

So for example if Daydream chems is giving out a percentage chance on health packs and I go to one of their systems and offload a bunch of gunpowder (provided they want it) I get a health pack (or something else) based on a % chance?

Yes, trading has a fairly large but set loot pool. From what ive heard it upgrades, but you will never get something outside of what that company specializes in, for example; You will never get a quasimorph item from anyone except the quasimorph faction, inversely a faction like daydream chems will will never have a Razor or much outside of medical items. what you get will always be from that set pool based on a random percentage, say you get 10 items every time you fill up the bar and a healthpack has a 10% chance to be gotten, every item has a 10% chance of being a healthpack, not a 10% chance for it to spawn at all in filled bar

hi just to add that in your gunpowder example, you would need to trade a lot of it in order to get something back in return (because the value of each gunpowder is low and there is a minimum amount of exchange points that you need to obtain, before they give you something in trade).

for example, if i trade with someone for the first time, and if gunpowder is worth 1 exchange, i could give it to them, but when i click to trade, i only exchange my 1 gunpowder, for their 1 exchange points, but i would need to trade more powders etc before the total exchange credits "c" is actually large enough to get something back.

i forgot what the exact minimum is but heres some more notes i made for myself in case handy:

1 blue chip (250c) can = 120 Heavy Ammo + 16 Buckshot + a shotgun
(i had 2c there already, making 252c total and got 12c back in change = 240c used) = estimated 40c for shotgun and 1.5c per ammo

church of revel:
10x spider brains (10c each) = 80 Batteries ammo
(i had 15c there already, making 115c total and got 35c back in change = 80c used) = 1c per battery ammo (esimated mininmum credits needed are 80 to get 1 full stack)

ancom:
1x Q-Rifle (150c each) + 20x Gannix Fibre (100c each) + 30x loose Igvas ammo (4c each) = 6 blue chips + 1 vibroblade melee + 4 taiga shotguns + 3 bayonet pistol starlock shotguns
+ 2 liberator pistols +3 tripple Vests + 3 fighter BackPacks + 2 white/red storm 32/32 guns + 1 assault rifle 24/24 (and 24+24+24+24+12+12+12+6+6+32+32+24 = 232 ammo's :o)
(96 + 36 = 132 shotgun buckshot shells + 64x 9mm ammo + 36 white rifle ammo)
(i had 10c there already, making 2280c total and got 20c back in change = 2260c used)

btw i now have 33x full stacks of 40 white heavy ammo 7.97's = 33x10=330x4 = 1320 ammo :o) but after seeing some of the new 80/80 auto guns, i'll probably need them :)
