I don't think it's inherently more powerful than some other really strong weapons, but that we have zero way of defending against amputations. Armor can give us resistances, even cold and flame resistances to such things like the cold quasimorph guns and flame thrower. There's no armor that lowers the chance to be amputated, unless cut resistance is factored in somehow under the hood, which I don't think it is, but even if it is, it clearly isn't working as well as it should.
Maybe we need a peek through door ability?
Probably my fault since I have stun grenade and don't use it though. Still getting 1 shot from 80hp...ugh.
Even if it takes 2 mouse clicks, first right on the enemy and then left on his inventory! in EVERY enemy. On top of all the other stuff.
We need to unite and demand a solution of showing the weapon in the enemy's hands on his carcass by pressing ALT, on top of everything else. Showing BOTH inventory and status windows on right click.
It might help for enemies to have different sound profiles while in stealth? Like an enemies carrying around a heavier weapon has a louder sound in the room, or maybe even some indicator to show the direction the sound is moving in so you can have a better guess if they're facing the door or not. I'm not saying we need x-ray vision, but a few extra indicators to decrease those door-opening decapitation accidents would be helpful.

2. always switch to sprint to open a door so you have 2 more actions once you see what's on the other side. If it's real bad, throw a grenade and close the door.
