the saw gun is just wrong
1 shot kills from the sawdisc throwing gun just ended like 4 runs in a row for me, the way it can decapitate or kill in a single shot takes away all the fun out of leveling skills and trying to keep the PC alive, what gun you have when you finally face one or more than one is mostly up to previous RNG of the stage or previous missions, and depending on what class you have its going to end your run sooner or later. F* the quasimorph cold gun, this is even more broken. I'm starting to think Mars is much worse for not having quasimorphs since that means more saw disc throwing enemies.

What strategy do you use when you see enemy with sawgun?

Never had trouble with the sawdisc/chainsaw enemies as melee pmc, granted I used the clone with the highest resist/hp and really good def gear. The quasimoprh cold gun though ... straight up one shotted me. Need further testing with even higher cold def, but that seemed kina bonkers.

definitely not as powerful as the quasimorph gun but how do you counter it?

I think the saw gun is a symptom of an underlying problem and not necessarily a problem itself.

I don't think it's inherently more powerful than some other really strong weapons, but that we have zero way of defending against amputations. Armor can give us resistances, even cold and flame resistances to such things like the cold quasimorph guns and flame thrower. There's no armor that lowers the chance to be amputated, unless cut resistance is factored in somehow under the hood, which I don't think it is, but even if it is, it clearly isn't working as well as it should.

Lmao that damn saw gun tore me up too. First it sliced off my arm along with the weapon I was using so had to waste a turn swapping weapons and he launches the next blade which outright killed me. Didnt have a chance to get behind cover or run away before he launched another. I thought it was a cool death and sweet amputation mechanic but I was a bit aggravated as it was like my 6th run ruined in a row. If you encounter two blade launcher dudes at the same time with no cover or exit, your in trouble. Thats not counting all the other grunts or bots that are usually around them too.

See, that's the problem. There are a lot of lethal weapons you don't get to see before they have already taken a shot. In a way it reminds my of classic X-com. The problem is that we had multiple meat bags to sacrifice. Here we just have ourselves. So the question is: what's the counter-play to a lethal enemy you don't know about yet?

Just got 1 shot from full health on my 3 mission survived character....yeah. Sucks hard.

Probably my fault since I have stun grenade and don't use it though. Still getting 1 shot from 80hp...ugh.

It's just that you MUST look at what EVERY enemy is holding.
Even if it takes 2 mouse clicks, first right on the enemy and then left on his inventory! in EVERY enemy. On top of all the other stuff.
We need to unite and demand a solution of showing the weapon in the enemy's hands on his carcass by pressing ALT, on top of everything else. Showing BOTH inventory and status windows on right click.
I've died a couple times from just opening a door and getting one-shot. Examining enemies is great, if you can see them. A lot of people have been getting hit from the darkness (which I believe they've patched to make less obnoxious), and opening doors.

It might help for enemies to have different sound profiles while in stealth? Like an enemies carrying around a heavier weapon has a louder sound in the room, or maybe even some indicator to show the direction the sound is moving in so you can have a better guess if they're facing the door or not. I'm not saying we need x-ray vision, but a few extra indicators to decrease those door-opening decapitation accidents would be helpful.

1. always sneak as your main movement, so you know where enemies are before you open doors.
2. always switch to sprint to open a door so you have 2 more actions once you see what's on the other side. If it's real bad, throw a grenade and close the door.

yeah, these amputation and stuff is kinda broken. A spider tank that rip your arms and legs off with every shot, and saw gun that does that too. Hell if I can break the robots head dealing 0 damage, apparently so too can they insta kill you despite it not really doing damage. I feel.... I feel like this limb damage things might need some working on. At the moment, despite having very good protection to any damage, you can still potentially die, and die at the instant without even a fighting chance pass the 1st turn your character decided to miss all their attack .
