Performance got way worse?

I completed this game back when it came out on PC in 2022, and everything was buttery smooth at max settings. Now the game seems to struggle to keep 60FPS on the same hardware? Is it an issue on my end or did the latest updates break the performance?

if you are gonna answer trash then dont bother, the game had always had denuvo, so its not the issue.
to op: to my knowledge there hasnt been any patch that ahs downgraded peformance so maybe its a driver issue (you know, like sometimes new drivers make older games work worse).

It's a driver issue, If you have Nvidia GPU rollback to 528.49

Which GPU and driver are you using? I had the same issue when I updated my driver a couple of months ago. Rolling back to 528.49 back then solved it.

Is there a reason why you guys went back to specifically 528.49 and not to the driver immediately before the newest one, which would be 536.23? I read on the nvidia website that 9 drivers between 528.49 and 536.40 have been released actually. I’m running a rtx 4080 btw. I’m not an expert on this subject matter at all, I’m just asking out of curiosity! Thanks in advance.

528.49 is the newest one that seemed to work for me, and the other people in the forum. Not entirely sure why this version works the best though, the newest version makes the game completely unplayable for me.

Okay, so if this is a driver issue, shouldn't Nvidia or Sega look into this? It makes the game run terribly and can give a bad first impression for a lot of new players

Still has Denuvo several years later. So dumb lol.

Since this game has been cracked they are paying a license fee for no reason. And it hurts performance.

It hasn't been several years on PC afaik but yeah publishers always do this. I guess they have some kind of deal that covers them for X amount of years. Someone at SEGA seems to be looking out for the consumer though, because older Yakuza games have had Denuvo removed and all of them up to (and including) Y6 recently got released on GOG as well which is nice to see.

Denuvo is not the cause of the problem I'm referring to here. The game ran perfectly on my PC back in september 2022 with Denuvo enabled.

This is a driver issue. And either Nvidia or the LJ PC port devs should look into this. So even the cracked, Denuvo-free versions could have this issue.

Is anyone else having this problem? Sometimes, the GPU goes to 100/99% usage, but the FPS is way lower than it should be as well as temperatures. Normally it should run at 90% usage 120fps with everything on max at 68ish degrees, but sometimes it goes to 100% usage with 60~80fps and 55ish degrees. Its only happening with this game, finished judgment after over 130hours of gameplay and didnt have any performance issues.
