Combat question
I've noticed loads of people saying the combat here is really good especially compared to Judgment, but I'm finding it quite similar and lacking in a few ways Judgment succeeded. Bosses seem to NEVER let you grab them which is an odd thing, dodging behind them causes them to just turn around and sometimes you get knocked down in EX boost, which never happened in Judgment. Am I missing something or is it a game where you're weak at the start but really strong late game?

I've also noticed at times that the attacks I do sometimes don't even lock on, and the enemies can ignore grabs for some reason, making it a very hit or miss move.

Actually I found that most useful moves in Judgment don't really apply in Lost Judgment. EX Boost has been kinda nerfed too, but I barely used it in the main game. LJ makes up for these changes with a lot of completely new possibilities. The "Secret Arts" skills are a must, especially the one for the Crane style which boost the basic combo speed of any style for a short amount of time. Snake style can be very powerful when used correctly. Some new moves can throw the enemy up in the air, making it possible to juggle them until they hit the ground. There's also a lot of different counters you can do, more than the Tiger Drop and the Resolute Counter. Stat boosts are also pretty overpowered. With all skills unlocked, you can pretty much one-hit-KO any enemy except for bosses. There's also an entire guide on Steam about Triple Stance Cancelling, the best defensive strategy in the game.

So my advice: experiment with new skills as you unlock them to find a combo routine that suits you. Switch styles often given the situation. Use counters and defensive abilities, they're very useful.

Indeed, I've been experimenting with some skills and in the gauntlets you can access some moves early, and a lot of them are very good. Game does get more fun with more skills. Only real complaint now is the inability to grab bosses, but it's not a big issue.

The action is EXTREMELY deep in LJ. Like if you don't know how to juggle you won't even stand a chance against the Amon superboss in harder modes.

IMHO this is the best tutorial on ALL styles
