They do hit hard, but that's the point. They're a bigger challenge, but they get you a bigger reward.

I find the Boxer and Snake styles pretty useful against them.

Sometimes he pulls out a sledgehammer and can kill you in 2 hits.

i wouldn't say the reward is the biggest since most of the time they only drop 50k $ though also snake definitely is it just that box im not 100% sure especially if it against the hammer version one which seem to me is the most annoying one since you can't even juggle them

if you have 3 or 4 stars, they'll also drop platinum plates on occasion. although money is pretty easy to come by in this game but they're alright to farm. Mainly you get 3 or 4 stars from food for the enemy drops and you catch a group of 4+ guys and you'll get a bunch of cheat gambling items you can farm for plates.

i don't see the point in the way they are designed in this game, they always start out with an unavoidable grab move, slam you and spam you while you are on the ground, 3 hits max if I'm lucky, but usually they just one hit me and i die. They literally break every mechanic in the game. it's stupid

try to launch them in the air that way you can combo them or you can use crane speed attack boost after dodge

i mean it hard to tell i always get grab by them all the time the best thing i can say try to stay distance that way you can get easier to know if they gonna grab or not never get too close to them

Noveau Riche in past games were rare but other than that on par with regular thugs. In Lost Judgment they're more like mini-bosses and hit really hard.

I find the best way to fight them is to play it safe. I stick to dodging and countering with Crane and using Snake for parries.

If you've unlocked the skill that boosts EX action damage during EX boost, I find that the EX action Snake style can pull off immediately after a parry does a ton of damage and is easy to pull off (think it's called Waterfall Crush or something similar). The only issue with it is if you've unlocked the skill that adds an extra hit to parries during EX boost you won't be able to pull off the EX action, so you have to: parry normally -> enter EX boost -> quickly trigger the EX action.

Worst part about them IMO is that they just aren't rewarding enough to be worth the effort. Even if you exclude how broken dice and cube is, and you dont do any gambling, you can easily get several times more money just by buying walking the dog and picking up items, or popping the treasure or materials boosts in a restaurant and farming gold plates or pyroxene/sacred stuff.
Far easier and less painful than dealing with basically a miniboss for a measly 50k.

This game wants to you juggle enemies for big guaranteed damage, so that's how you should lern2play... an enemy in the air is an enemy that is not a threat to you.

For these guys, start in Boxer and go for the pop up launch uppercut (S,T,O) to launch em. Once you pop em up, go for the biggest juggle combo you can do. If you fail to launch, Boxer has the shortest move recovery times out of all the styles so you're pretty safe, esp since you can dodge/weave out of recovery in that style.

For the idiot with the hammer, stay in Snake and just counter his ♥♥♥♥. He's so slow that if you get hit at all, you totally deserve it.

My strategy with these big guys is usually to use Boxer the whole way. Everytime they try to attack, you dodge and land a full combo in their back, or you counter and do a frontal combo (you even have a chance to stun them that way). If you counter their EX attack they usually fall flat on their face which means you can land an easy EX attack on them for bonus damage.

For the guys using a sledgehammer, same thing. At some point you can unlock an EX move for the Snake style that can disarm someone using a sledgehammer specifically. So make sure you have enough EX, wait for the guy to attack, activate the EX move, switch to Boxer and continue with my previous strategy.
