Apart from the blackjack charm you can get from Yurika (and I *think* that's not available til Ch. 11, but don't quote me on that part - but Yurika's at one of the mahjong places, I remember that much).
Blackjack, like any kind of gambling really, is about statistics.
In a deck of cards, there's 52 cards. With me so far? Good.
Each suit of cards has 4 cards with a value of 10, so 16/52.
So, any given hand, you have about a 30% chance of drawing something with a value of 10.
That's why the house draws to 16, stops at 17. Statistically, they're more likely to be at 16-21, and bust less.
The house logic relys on players being greedy, and pushing their luck too hard, trying to reach 21 (or better - they'll double on a 12 or 13). The house isn't there for you to play with. They're not there for you. They're there to win against you. That's how they make money.
That's why the house always wins, in the long run. They're not trying to reach 21. They're banking on players busting out - because their strategy wins far more than it loses.
Same principle here.
To "win" at blackjack, you have to play conservatively - to play the odds in your favor that the dealer busts before the soft 17. The house plays a long game - you have to, too.
Split hands are your friend, and keep your hits low, and you'll usually do ok. And that's where the odds of blackjack weight somewhat in the player's favor - you don't have to draw to 16. The house does. If you play the exact same way the house does, but stand a couple pips earlier, you'll win slightly more often than the house will - in the long term.
If you're making 25 that frequently (enough to mention it), you're hitting too late. And it because you have a 1/3 or so chance of drawing 10 on a 15, and...53% or so of busting on the hit (3 cards/suit that put you over 21:
7 + 15 = 22, so anything >= 7 (aces, of course, count as 1 for this)
So:
12. 12+16 = 28
28/52 = .53, thereabout, ergo
53%, over half the potential hits just for the next hit, but you're still around 50% for the card after.
Point is - you hit 25 so frequently because, statistically speaking, you ♥♥♥♥ yourself by doing that - and that's what the house banks on. Might as well be tossing your wallet on the table, and not the chips.
Tldr the house always wins, because the house can do math.
