I believe its limited if im not mistaken. Have to pay for extra content, like subscription.
I tryed to like it, but interface felt to messy for me, gameplay felt cheap, I duno, but lot
of these f2p games seem to get neuter some way.

Here's their lovely pricing scale. They never learn.

Not too bad a deal, but the restrictions on chat, mail, and storage are perverse and unforgivable.

gotta agree with that

"Our philosophy is simple. Free games. No commitment. And if you want to buy, its on your terms." ...followed immediately by their terms.

It is free.

There isn't much PvP so P2W is hardly an issue.

When I started playing a few years ago (no, really) one of the first things I did was flag myself for PvP. Oh brother. Not a good idea.

I was almost certainly the only flagged person on the server. I had believed there was some way to undo it, a quest like they had in Asheron's Call. What I didn't know was that this was a relic from the golden age of EQ and required a GM to do it by hand. To make things worse, as a cleric I found that I was not allowed to heal anyone without a PvP flag. This probably seemed fair back when there was more than one pk-legal player on the server.

I eventually had to petition a GM and stay on for a couple of hours so I could be present for my de-flagging.

Any word on whether old characters were grandfathered like they did with EQ2?

It is a crippleware version of the game, unless you pay for Silver $5 a month or Gold $15 a month then you are going to fall over laughing at how limited the "Free" version is.

Pop up reminders, limited cahracter slots, limited everything even chat options you may as well not bother downloading it unless you have $15 a month to pay for the game.

A real warroir fights all fights, playing 100% free and still dominating the game is a true gamer!

First level spells only? As in my 65 Cleric would be limited to the heal spell he got at level 1? Or the super awesome HP buff he got at like level 4? That would completely cripple a character over level 10.

It's not first level spells. Its first rank spells. At lvl 70+, you have ranks to the spells. So you can buy rank 1 at the merchant (like anything below lvl 70), and rank 2 spells are dropped by names and are only slightly (like less than 5%) better than rank 1s. Which you can unlock by paying $2 or something per character. Rank 3s require raids and raid bosses to get and are again, 5% better than the rank 2s. Not something to worry about.

They are the same spells are the store bought just slightly more effective, that's all.

Pay to win would be an understatement but also not true.

It's more like a trial that you absolutely NEED to pay for it after you get high enough level..

Once you play enough the limitations become insanely apparent with most equipment not being able to be equipped, and the limitations on skills even making a huge difference..

The class/race limtations are obvious, but there's so many limitations beyond that.. Really shouldn't bother with this to begin with if you think you can play it for free..

Thanks for confirming that, I might have given up since the server merges have resulted in all their names being changed and it takes forever to find your old servers. I'll add that we seem to have a full blown silver membership for no charge.
