Same for me. I have tried a lot things and nothing worked. I used to play EQ without the help of Steam. Than I could not access any of the websites or game associated with EQ. I finally was able to reinstall once I found out the installer was with Steam now. That is as far as I could get. I keep attempting to start EQ through Steam. There is a long pause and finally the launchpad comes up and attempts to connect and instead I get the following error message over and over again.:

"http://manifest.patch.station.sony.com/patch/sha/manifest/lp4/live/gamelauncher/eq/live.sha.soeSocketError:Connection Timed-out - Destination host failed to respond (10060 - 64.37.169.11"

I am plugged straight into the cable modem and I have disabled the firewall. This has been a problem at least for 2 weeks.

im having the exact same issue- Ive been dealing with SOE support for a while- I cant connect to everquest.com or soe.com... I got no idea and neither do they apparently. Theyve had me go through hoops and still no answer, If we find the reasoning being it I will post here.

I wouldnt hold your breath though.

Ive literally reformatted my computer, changed the DNS, enabled the Proxy for those specific sites- made those sites friendly through chrome, reinstalled dozens of times- went from wireless to wired... manually entered the ips of all their servers into my windows32 hosts folder to make it seem like it was built into the computer... you name it, doesnt work.

Ive also changed my modem via Xfinity- yet my neighbor who has xfinity can connect to everquest site and soe site with no problem... im at a loss. My phone cant even connect to their sites with my wifi... so I dunno.

Update. Finally accessed SOE sites and the launchpad through a proxy but that is where it stops. If I try to start or validate EQ from the launchpad it gives me a slightly different error than before:

SocketError:Host Not Found (11001) - http://manifest.patch.station.sony.com/patch/sha/manifest/eq/eq-en/live/eq-en-tcg.sha.soe

Before I couldn't even start the launch pad. With this new error message though I was able to bring up a better search onth web. Will take time to sift through it all but it is not like it is taking away my game time since I have nothing to play. There is one other tip I did find that will start through the older version of the launcher and supposedly if your game is already updated then you can start it up temporarily.

I guess my install was not complete so it is not working all the way for me for I still get an error but may work for someone else. But this is a fix from the past. like 2 years ago but they had the very same issue back then as they do today.

"Anyway, you can use the patchme shortcut to get into the game, if it has been patched recently.

Right click on your current shortct, Send to, Desktop (as shortcut) That will create a 2nd shortcut for you.

Right click on the new shortcut.

Add a space then patchme at the end of the target section. It will look something like the following.

c:\gamefolder\eqgame.exe patchme

or

"c:\game directory with long names\eqgame.exe" patchme (there is a space after the quotation marks and patchme)"
