EverQuest Free-to-Play

EverQuest Free-to-Play

I want to play this game, but is it worth it?
I like the idea of community, grouping up, and really getting to know people as a guild. Raiding and the like. However, if the population isn't there then, it's kind of a moot point.

If i joined this game, is grouping easy to do or is it difficult?

from what i've seen you're better off waiting till spring for a new tle. currently unless you want to solo it seems groupings meh till endgame even on teek.

Game is absolutely worth the monthly subscription fee(cheap). Compared to most every game like this out on the internet Ever Quest is best hands down. Dont have to spend much beyond the monthly subscription fee. I started again playing after long absence. Have main account still but started on a new server level 1 Toon(character) in the tutorial , to get accustomed to game learn. Game can be slow leveling up compared to these cash grap games that instantly get you from lvl1 to 100(sad) Take your time and learn to play the game, so much in this game most dont even know about. Find a good guild that will help you out alittle(not give you hand outs to make you instant uber). Some guild may give little more than others as long as they see you trying, learning, helping out also.Dont compare this game to the I want your House,Car , kidney's Games. I pay 15$ a month and can get almost anything in the game I want, Most any other game you cannot. I just play game slow and have a great guild and listen to people that help me. Does it take time to level up fast?? Yes and NO, Early levels are quick until 80's but if you want to spend extra real money, than can find people to take your $$ and power level you, Gratz now you not very good at fighting things more powerful because you dont know how to. LEARN as you go that way you prepared to fight tougher monsters as you level. LOVE this game and by far the least exspensive and best over all. OH dont for get early levels the Journeyman Mercs tear it all up until late 80\s 90's levels.. they ok but hope you learn your class well. Helps alot.

depending on which server you land. do you want to play modern eq or classic. big ups on 1800 hours in eq 2. you'll know things
As with any MMO, the key to grouping is finding a good guild. If you have that, even lower population servers are great. One guild I used to roll with is Battle Cry on The Rathe server, they are very friendly and helpful, with players at all levels.

But, that server follows vanilla rules. You should take a look at the different server types, and decide which rules set fits your play style more.

Time Locked Progression (TLP) is very popular, but you're stuck with whichever expansion the server is currently running as your start point. I'm not sure how often new TLP servers are added, so I couldn't tell you how long you'd need to wait for the oldest content to come back around.

Other servers are role-play or PvP, as you might expect in any MMO. Some servers also have different loot rules, as well. There's a few things to consider, but it's still fun after all these years. I wish I had more time to invest in it.
Hands down the WORST MMO I have ever played. Between the OG and the Steam version, they both suck. There's zero help/tips when playing even through something as simple as the tutorial. You'll have to run here or google and hope to find an answer. I've played for over 3 hours and still don't know how to simply open a chest lmao. The controls are horrendous, the graphics are worse than the N64 and you'll get a "PLEASE BUY OUR SUBSCRIPTION" window that pops up every 5 minutes begging for your money. Even in the middle of a fight it will pop up. If you close it, it comes back. If you minimize it, another one pops up. Horrible game, do not play or buy.

Sounds like you need your hand held while you let a cartoon play itself for you...

Both you and we are better off with you finding another game...

Honestly... how hard is it to /open a container?? And if tpynig is hrad then you can make a hotkey without typing anything.

your best bet is to wait for a new TLP to launch or play on a content locked server like p99 or quarm
Check out The Heroes Journey - Multi-class (x3) and FREE. It's loads of fun. Everquest Live has went entirely downhill, unfortunately (I'm from year 2000).

lol i literally couldnt get past the tutorial and im 1992 and very intelligent lol sounds like your just coping acting like the tutorial isnt trash LOL
I don’t think this game is worth it if you don’t have any nostalgia for it.
I played it in 1999 and have those memories and like it now since it’s a strange convoluted game with old zones and graphics from 1999 and new zones with new graphics mixed together.
I mostly play solo, but I don’t see how someone completely new to the game would get into it.
From what I have seen, you will be soloing until the late 50's and after 30ish the solo content will be spread out all over the place. Think hour long sessions holding W running through low end content to get to a dungeon. Its not really worth it after that unless you already belogn to a guil that has other players in the 30 range. Your experience may vary but that has been my experience.
Bad: Incredibly grindy, repetitive and unforgiving gameplay.

Good: Classes. Unique spells/abilities and not just combat related ones. You can have fun goofing around with said spells/abilities when you don't feel like grinding. The classes are more complex and interesting to play in this game than in WoW.
