Can't Connect to Launchpad

Hi everyone,

I tried doing a search but did not find any help, although I did find another thread with the same problem.

I haven't played since 2013 so my launcher understandably does not work, especially since I found out about SOE being sold off. So I downloaded the game through Steam because for some reason I cannot access the Daybreak/Everquest website directly. It keeps timing out. I checked my speed connection and everything is fine. I even downloaded the entire game through Steam in 10 minutes once I remembered it may be on here.

Once it finished downloading though, when it opens up the launch pad, it says it cannot connect to servers. The other threads all have similiar issues but none of them have any resolutions. I can't even go to their website directly to inquire.

Any ideas or thoughts are appreciated, thank you.

have you checked the settings on lauchpad?
make sure file list is updated
make sure you are playing the "right" version of the game - live or test
verify game files

I box my accounts and use EQ on steam and EQ client. It might of made 2 EQ folders. So, I uninstalled EverQuest for a clean re-installation of this game through steam. Make sure it runs as admin because I get the windows admin thing about it. Sometimes I get the cannot connect to servers though but I see the servers & play fine for hours afterwards. From my understanding, its a launchpad issue so make sure its it has the proper permissions and its updated. Thats my experience on this matter.

Im having the same problem. I downloaded this last night, (not off of steam) and played a few hours just fine. Today it just kept giving me this message

LaunchPad was unable to connect. Please check the network connection or try again later. If the problem persists, please visit https://help.daybreakgames.com for assistance.

Clicking that link just gives another error message lol.

After trying fixes like resetting your internet settings with no luck, I tried downloading it on steam and now get the same exact message. Never had a single problem when i used to play it as a sony title, nor do i have a single problem with any other game in my steam library. Played it 12 or so years ago and again just last year with no probs.

yeah, the launch pad is messed up today.

Man i should have come here first. Spent all day running malware scans and going through their list of troubleshooting. Wish the link they provide told you that when you get to their page.

Glad its not my cpu, sad to see 15 years after release this game still has mid day downtime lol

it seems their servers crashed - i was logged into the game and ran into lag issues - the chat server was opperating but game was not. Thereafter the game crashed and launchpad wont successfully patch or load.

I run multiple machines and tested connections on each, all which failed. Even reinstalled on 1 Machine and still no success. At this point - EQ is having some server issues no doubt.

Insane timing. Just had a wild hair last night played a couple hours through the new tutorial, and my first real day back with time to play and its down all day lol

Alright so apparently im not the only one with this issue. Good to know. I haven't played the game in about a year.
