EverQuest I accidentally did not take the item from the quest how do I get it back

my inventory is full and I try to talk to the NPC and nothing happens! does the item get deleted or something?

The item may be in your "overflow" inventory and you may still be able to claim it as a quest reward. Click the "EQ" button and look for things like "inventory overflow" and "quest rewards." I am not certain of the exact names but it is very likely that you can still recover your quest reward.

I managed to get it to pop back up by logging out and logging back in I will make sure to take your advice for the next go around! Thanks for the info!
