PS. I cannot find Japanese in the drop down menu.
I cannot find "Japanese" in the drop menu.
Please solve the mystery.
First of all, find The Testament of Sherlock Holmes game on your steam library and right-click on it. Enter to Properties. Then click "Language" menu, select " Japanese " option and close window. You will see an updating for your game. With this updating, you will reach your Japanese version of this game :)) Have a nice game ! ;)
Thank you Aybars and tell Mr. Holmes my gratitude.
In the deduction board of the Bishop of Knightbridge's murder;
In English Version
The murderers are poor. >> The Bishop's murderers were hired by someone.
Yes, these sentences make sense.
But the translation of the sentences into Japanese is
殺人犯は貧乏である。
(The murderers are poor. )
主教殺害は第三者によって行われた。
(The Bishop's murderers were disinterested people.)
The murderers are poor. >> The Bishop's murderers were disinterested people.
They DIDN'T make sense.
So I have to try all combinations of selections or look for spoilers.
I wish you will retake and refine this all translations into Japanese.
Playing this Japanese translation version, this game does not require logical brains, it require trying all selection or looking for spoilers. It is none of fun for Japanese people.
note is a Japanese gamer :) I think that's enough to discuss translation. You should not get angry with him/her. note has purchased this game and he/she says his/her own ideas about native language. And perhaps you even are not a Japanese and perhaps you do not understand Japanese language :)) Language critisms are not bad things. Thanks to these critisms, translators improve theirselves. Please remember this ;)
I agree with you, he has right to comment. It just the way he says it isn't really polite to anyone. Sure everybody has right to their opinion, but I think you can't tell them what it should be or not, unless you are really pro at it. (you can comment of course.)
I am Japanese and have seen my friend's play this game in Japanese. I didn't think they are awful as he think, moreover, I thought it was rather clever and fit well with Holmes and Watson from 19th-century. :)
People want to enjoy the game and I don't really think it's nice to push one's opinion to that extend.
Anyhow, thanks for the concern ;)
Um, actually, 「主教殺害は第三者によって行われた」 doesn't translate to what you wrote. It should be something along the line of "The murder of the bishop is committed by third parties".
Yeah, that sentence doesn't communicate the point of murderers being hired by someone, which renders the deduction impossible, but it's not gibberish as a single sentence, which you claim it to be.
