Disguise room glitch HELP

When I'm back as Watson at Sherlock's house I can't complete the puzzle regarding the cupboard. I checked on walkthroughs and I do as it says, and what's more, I can't use the skip button, it doesn't do anything. Besides, it only recognises the ship captain outfit, leaving me the other two to be changed freely with no effect.

I had to restart and do the whole sherlock house thing without saving

I'm having the same issue. I restarted from when Watson first returned to Baker St but before the police arrived. Do I have to go back further to get past this glitch?

I encountered the same glitch, and restarting the game or loading a previous save (I tried it multiple times) didn’t help. However, here’s what worked for me: I installed the game on a different PC (though I don’t think that was essential). I then arranged the clothes as they should be, and the game only recognized the ship captain outfit at first. Out of desperation, I started randomly rearranging all the letters. After about two minutes, the priest outfit was recognized, and just a minute later, the last one was as well.
