I use a Logitech controller to play this game, and it works very well.
I can rotate between Adventurer and Trader with the back left and right triggers.. I can hit B to go back and A works on all the menu options... but pressing all buttons, as well as pushing the shoulder buttons, pushing down on left/right analog sticks.. nada... just will not start the game. :-(
If "A" is the button then I will keep trying to diagnose. Everything else works great as does the other menu options within this very game... frustrating.
Regardless, I still prefer keyboard + mouse controls and switched to that the second time I played.
Could you test the following:
- Disable controller
- Go into game
- Enable controller
- Does everything works fine now?
(I want to find out if it's this screen only or if there might be a general issue, as all of this works fine for me... )
best regards,
Daan
I could never get this to work no matter what I did so I finally gave up.
I did buy Controller Companion here on Steam and it did the trick- you can now control your computer from your gamepad and emulate mouse movement and full-keyboard . It's a neat piece of software and works very well.
That is only for xbox 1 and 360 controllers. So if I buy this, it would work with my wireless controller? Do I need to d/l other programs to have this function? Thanks.
It would likely depend on the drivers for your PS controller... there are basically two sets of drivers- directinput and the new "X" drivers (forget the name.. xplay? xinput?) so this application is for the latter/xbox compatible drivers.
I know I had a Logitech gamepad and had to download about 4 different drivers and applications to make it work like an XBox controller. From there, anything that uses that new standard seems to work.
Steam has refunds so might want to try it and if it doesn't work in the first hour or two, get a refund. :-) It's only a couple bucks too so it's not a big investment.
Good luck!
Basically, there is X-Input and DirectInput as two gamepad standards for PC's. If you have an older/DInput style drivers, the XBox 360 emulator will have it show as an XBox/X-Input device.
This did the trick...thanks :D
